Now that I can play games without burning a hole through my motherboard, I booted up Remnant: From the Ashes. Apocalyptic soulslike with guns, although you can play as melee if you wish. I've bounced off every souls game I've played but I'm digging this one. Mostly because it's a touch easier (first boss went down in 5 tries) and actually has a decent number of checkpoints. Including, get this, right outside the boss room so I don't have to run through 5 minutes of bullshit after I get chunked in two hits on my first attempt. Also has adjustable difficulty so you can torture yourself if you wish. I was expecting it to be slightly jank but it's pretty smooth.

i played it for 3 hours but it's really dull environmentally and there isn't anything to become interested in besides the gaming improvement aspect. like leveling your guy and shooting stuff. seems like it would be great with some good buds. it was a fun 3 hours. i mean no disrespect

the gameplay is good in remnant. haven't played snakeybus. one thing i noticed was that the scrap stuff that drops off monsters seems to be one instance so the other player who joined my game once just took all the items even though i was doing 63% of the work but who is counting.

Worst movie I've ever seen in theaters was Step Brothers. Just terribly unfunny and annoying. My dad and I both looked at each other and we walked out like 25 minutes in.

Different strokes but I adored Step Brothers. All those big hollywood dirty comedies from the mid-late 2000s mean the world to me, probably because I was in high school when I and everyone I knew saw them. Superbad, 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Talledega Nights, Borat, Pineapple Express, that was a great time. They don't make comedy movies like that anymore, and when they try it's almost universally not good. Booksmart was like if you took the Superbad script, surgically removed every single joke, and put a Warren bumper sticker on it.

Blockers and Game Night are the two movies of the last several years that have made me laugh the same way that all those Rogen/Apatow/Ferrell movies did back when. Death of Stalin is also very funny but also kind of a horror movie for me, so idk. Paddington(s) are also deeply belly-laugh funny.

James Bond Update Quantum of Solace is incredibly solid and fast-paced. I watched it like six years ago for the first time and didn’t like it; the end of Casino Royale left such a bad taste in my mouth. This time I watched the end of Casino Royale (after Bond is rescued) and straight into Quantum. Works really well imo and the movie is badass. It’s probably the least Bond-ish of any Bond movie but it’s still a very fun, good spy thriller.

I came out of Die Another Day in the theaters really positive about it and it’s been ragged on ever since, so now I’m scared to rewatch it. It’s one of the last on my Bond list, along with World is Not Enough, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, aaaaand gently caress it I guess I’ll rewatch SPECTRE but I really don’t want to.

Die Another Day was terrible and unfortunately not in a fun way, I was so bummed because I really liked Brosnan's Bond. Casino Royale was loving awesome and I dug Quantum of Solace even if it got a bad rep. Skyfall was loving incredible though, which is what made Spectre so disappointing since I figured Sam Mendes would deliver another incredible film.

DC movies aren't very good at making money so I wouldn't be too worried about that. Frank Miller sucks bad though yeah. Then again Batman capital F loving Sucks anyway. The very premise reeks of republican wank about rich people beating the poor being justice and ill treatment of the mentally ill.
