also the waylon jennings, bill hicks, and jerry falwell clips at the beginning of the man who loves to hurt himself. individually the latter two would be really cliche but it's all edited together like an adam curtis documentary

SPIRIT POSSESSION is a new raw and erratic black heavy metal entity emerging from the old school origin depths. They are a duo comprised of vocalist/guitarist S. Peacock (Ulthar, Mastery, Pandiscordin Necrogenesis) and A. Spungin (Ormus, Tarus) on drums and handmade synthesizers. SPIRIT POSSESSION’s approach to their singular style of raw schizophrenic angular spiraling black metal explodes with razor thrashing guitars, blistering drum violence, commanding torturous vocals, and apocalyptic harsh noise.

The self-titled SPIRIT POSSESSION debut album encompasses the avant-garde nonconformist aura of the black metal outliers of the ‘90s and early ‘00s while pushing the thresholds of forward-thinking underground heavy metal. Through seven serpentine-like tracks, SPIRIT POSSESSION’s debut reveals uncompromising brutal filth draped in First Wave blood, when the classic era of heavy/black/thrash/death naturally congealed in their original primitive form. The result being an aberration of archaic swarming chaos.

This is absolutely killer, the production is perfect and I love a duo - chaotic without being an overbearing wall of noise.

Hellraiser 2 gets the heck sampled out of it by death metal bands. 57% of those samples come from Aborte.

"I do that rather well...don't you think?" is the best sample by far tho. Also, Mortician is the only band to get a pass for 1 minute + horror movie samples imo.

It's from a terrible Hellraiser, but if it hasn't happened, someone needs to use the Pinhead line "Do I look likes someone who cares what God thinks?!?!?!?"

Yeah it's taken some digesting for me but I'm coming around on it. I'm still not sure if it needs two 80s AOR songs, and the weird Devin Townsend sounding track really sticks out, but it's growing on me.

Also they released one more music video. This track is definitely a highlight on the album, imo.
