a double feature of zero dark thirty followed by burn after reading would be a welcome recontextualization of the formers obvious propagandistic elements reminder that in the original version of zero dark thirty no one even comes close to actually accomplishing anything and the final cuts semisuccessful ending had to be awkwardly grafted on when osama bin laden actually died

i say swears online posted:it ages well imo. it's the best movie tangentially about the bush administration. i think about clooney's sex wedge a lot i saw it recently but i should see it again. my big problem is that i didn't think the first third of the movie was funny at all, basically up until brad pitt starts the blackmail plot. pitt and mcdormand are easily the highlight of the movie, especially counting out jk simmons

Whats hilarious is that in their efforts to both excise all the inherent political themes in Star Wars (aka have only vapid Lib themes) and make the story a store brand knockoff of the Original Trilogy, Disney made this statement 100% unironically true. Instead of making a New Republic that rectified the mistakes of the Old one, Luke, Han, and Leia decided to make an even shittier state that was unable to resurrect the Jedi and allowed Fascists 100 times more powerful than the Empire to make their own even bigger Death Star that blew up like five times as many planets. I mean it's not like America doesn't already have enough guns floating around to arm every man woman and child with a Tank cannon.
