anyway finished ssss.gridman that was quite good. i think probably the first time i've seen it was all a dream! in anime before, complete with a honto maji person and fairy tale like. good stuff.

The toku stuff in Gridman ends up being the most generic and least interesting part of the whole thing, though I've never been super into tokusatsu outside of like, enjoying Power Rangers as a kid. When the series shows its hand it gets way more compelling, though. Excited for the follow-up.

I'm impressed they got an a VA who actually speaks real French to voice the French guy in Great Pretender, at least before it switches to Japanese. I wouldn't expect it to resonate in exactly the same way and at this point I'm just waiting to see where they go with it in terms of being a wholly separate "new show" or what, but I don't really see any reason to be pessimistic about the gridman guys' next project. So far it just looks like the team wanting to get together on another show.

I don't really have strong expectations of Dynazenon back, other than that its storyboards will probably be dope as hell - I adored Gridman's and the director and staff appear to be essentially unchanged. Really curious to see how/if it plays off of Gridman, because while there's definitely some cool stuff they could do, I also feel like there's some real landmines they could step on if they try to add to much to what I thought was a pretty good and definitive ending back in Gridman.

Aggretsuko continues to piss me off. Season 3 spoilers: I can't stand how anti-Marxist the show is (not surprising for obvious reasons). So she realizes that she's strong and can go back to her old life, but drops her job as an idol? I mean I get that it's dangerous but still it's essentially what she always wanted. Her being in that lovely job being bossed and abused around is somehow a big improvement? Also what she said to Haida that he should shut up and know his place and is forcing his feelings on her is true. She just had a traumatic experience a few days ago and he's going to perform shock therapy with a mix of confessing his love to her? What the gently caress? Also, why in the gently caress did she hold hands with that guy at all when he was verbally abusing her? Who gives a gently caress if he paid for the tickets?
