my irontrans star saber got here and hes pretty rad i havent posed him very well yet cause stuff arrives from china very cold and that seems to make the joints tight on stuff and i dont want to gently caress around too much till it warms up volatus also arrived at the same time, and he is neat and very cute but i didnt take a photo of him yet

decided to go grab the most recent Starscream while i was out doing groceries this arvo so i have something to fiddle with while the stuff i've ordered online comes in. i had to look up a video on how to transform him to follow along with 'cause i couldn't make heads nor tails of the instruction sheet after the first, like, six steps but once i did it was really fun seeing how it all went together and doing it myself. plus he just looks really swanky as both a robot and a jet think i might be going from "kind of casual Transformers fan in the abstract - went to see the Bay movies with a friend as they came out, likes Dare (and The Touch is fine, of course, but Dare is miles better), played the Cybertron shooters and Devastation, enjoys poking around TFWiki and watching Thew, very slowly reading the IDW comics" to someone that actually follows and occasionally buys new toys Homora Gaykemi fucked around with this message at 13:00 on Aug 28, 2020 |

Doesn’t even look as good as the Tomy Mall exclusive, but at least he has a trailer, and he’s cheaper than people were able to get the previous one for. Still, if it wasn’t the Siege mold again, I’d probably be all over this. EDIT: The black is a lot duller, and they got rid of almost all the teal highlights. Sword blade isn’t even transparent. I can’t even count how many people I’ve seen say, “oh, I just want a [insert figure]” escalate to “well, he needs [figure’s storyline opposite]” and then “well, I just want like a four-on-four display” to buried in hot-rear end plastic. I have also done this to myself in numerous hobbies, so we’re all friends here.

I’ve finally found Thundercracker and Skywarp in person, and had to walk away. With all the stuff going on lately, they just didn’t give me the happy chemicals. Did get to see Scorponok’s giants box, and appreciate that Skylynx is a thing that exists.

Also, MP-44KO arrived today from China. I bought it from Baba. It seems to have a pretty good build quality, like that Prime vs Prime guy (who apparently lives next door to the factory or something becasue he has poo poo no one else does, and is developing Emgo-level verbal stuff) says, there's a lot of colored plastic rather than painted so it feels slightly off, but it feels good. It looks like there was an blue bit on the back of the knees that was snipped off, but he seems to have no problems whatsoever. It doesn't come with instructions though.

I just paid for the Wreck Gar reissue so the movie crew will be complete outside of deep cuts like Kranix or the Quints. Really all that's left are the combiner teams and the Headmasters/Targetmasters. ...did the Quintessons get their name because they're related to the Sharkticons and Quint is Robert Shaw's character in Jaws? On one hand yet another Prime repaint is pretty bleh. On the other the Nemesis colors really work on the Siege vehicle mode to make it look pretty sinister. Think I'll keep the preorder.

Looks like at one point during TF5, there were ideas about Megatron being a dragon, similar to Transmetal 2 BW Megs. Would have paired nicely with the Optimus Primal design they were also developing

Since I’m working from home now, my wife and I decided we’re going to convert her old office into a collection room/office. we’re going to be going to Memphis to visit family and we’ll go to ikea for some detolfs while we’re there. Are there any other ikea cabinet pieces that are sutable to use for a base, sturdy enough to hold a fully-loaded detolf on top? I have 17 18 gallon totes of dudes, and my wife wants to get them out of as many totes as possible. I’m thinking something like 2-foot cabinet with door as base, detolf on top.
