In 89 I went to see Gwar and Old Skull in the East Village. I'd heard about Gwar but didn't know their music or anything, just that the performances were crazy. You already know what their shows are like, blood and gore and all that. I was up front getting soaked and loving it, but the whole time I'm wondering why nobody is stage diving or anything, since most of my shows those days were CBs matinees. Then I'm just like gently caress this I'm a hardcore kid and we get onstage! I jumped up and grabbed the biggest large intestines I could find and started swinging them around until I got rushed by a security dude who pushed me back in the crowd. Later that week I'm at a friend's house watching MTV and they do a segment about Gwar! MTV hardly had any metal, especially something like that so we were all pumped- I think it was the first time Gwar was on MTV. Then holy poo poo there I am, getting pushed by the bouncer but also getting roundhoused by the sexecutioner! We were taping it so I got to see my grainy little micromoment of fame lots of times.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT_r1zfgo1w Cut to about four years ago, and who do I end up working with but the sexecutioner himself! I said "hey man you kicked me almost 30 years ago, and here's proof!". He got a good laugh about that, he started telling people "I kicked this guy in the 80s and now he's my boss!!" (I was only barely his boss then, it was a short project). He's a cool guy who still does lots of creative work, although he never made any music to begin with, he's a mask and costume maker.

I bought an AxCx live video from a show in Japan on eBay when I was like 16 and he was just throwing folding chairs at the audience the entire time. I have this old Agoraphobic Nosebleed shirt here I bought from the now dead Relapse store in south Philly and have had endless people stop me with like "wait, what is this shirt? Isn't that...?" Yes, I know which logo they ripped off, guys. That's why I bought it. haha. Geez, I didn't realize how old and beat up this thing is until I just took a picture of it.
