It's because the 3090 is a 'we don't understand why you guys are shelling out for commercial-grade products, but sure we'll rebrand to take your money' thing. The main difference is that partners get to sell it. e: gently caress it I've worked hard this year I'm getting one.

Definitely down for a 3090. Wish they would let us know when pre-orders are expected though so I don't have F5 away my day.

I mean they did sell the 3090 in the sense of saying it can do 8k or whatever that's a huge statement. It's just so loving weird that they went out of their way to not say poo poo about anything except price and that they can AI rapping.

I'm guessing this leaves a 3080ti at 1200ish with somewhere between 10 and 24gb gddr6x. Maybe this is the 20gb model that's been rumored.

I'm gunna wait for benchys before deciding to upgrade from a 2080S but I thought this was going to be a easy wait for super refresh. Might let Cyberpunk decide for me.

DLSS in Fortnite seems like a huge deal because it implies UE4/5 will have DLSS integrated as a core feature, unlike the current situation where Nvidia provides unofficial patches for UE Every UE game could have DLSS once they catch up the latest engine version

Yeah I'm not thrilled with the 1.5k price tag but it's still not bad enough to dissuade me completely. Honestly the biggest thing that bothers me about it is the size.

If $700 is truly realistic the 3080ti would fit way better around $900-$1000 in, say, Feb or March of this year.

they didn't say anything else about the 3090 because you only buy that if you have to have the biggest possible dick in the game.

The people considering throwing down that kind of money on a graphics card already know who they are, and are going to do their research first.

Honestly without appropriate benchmarks and more info this was just a tease. They can sell their poo poo for 699 but it doesn't mean much if we don't even know how fast it is under what conditions? It was just a teaser after all this time. Impermanent posted:they didn't say anything else about the 3090 because you only buy that if you have to have the biggest possible dick in the game.
