How does it work if Clowney ends up signing with a team that his former agent had talks with? Is the agent still entitled to whatever amount of $$$ even though he got fired just before signing?

The sad thing is I bet the only reason Clowney isn't signing with the Seahawks is to save face, or because he is butt hurt that they didn't show up with a $22m/yr offer right off the bat.

Realtors at least often have you sign an agency contract that gives them a cut even if you fire them and then buy a place immediately afterwards. I bet sports agents tend to have something similar.
