Not true, real Finland is like some Shakespearean tragicomedy where everyone is drinking themselves to death or stabbing each other. It's hilarious and enriching.

Its true only as long as you dont have to live in Insestipyhtää, Pohjanmaa. Then it stops being fun.

I'm mostly referring to the circumstance which lead to this outcome. Mostly defined by all the people living there. That's what cities are about, concentrations of people and opportunity. Even if some of them will harass you in the park.

My friend once said it and I agree; citykoirat is basically just animal abuse. Dogs don't belong in tiny apartments where they only get to go outside a handful of times a day on a leash round the block on paved roads, where they'll also inevitably become an object of hatred for many neighbors who'll go mad if they hear a dog barking once in the building.

That's dumb poo poo. Ever heard of dog parks? There is a barky dog near my folks place in the boonies, it is no less annoying. Maybe moreso since they are outside, so the entire neighborhood can enjoy them freaking over every car that drives by. When I walk my dog there literally every dog coming across us will bark like crazy because just like people in rural shitholes they don't get to socialize with others of their kind much and fear strangers while my urban dog who plays with 3+ dogs every day just looks at them with "the gently caress is their problem?".

Also literally a 5m walk from my place there is an entire forest that stretches from Pasila to Vantaa. There is also Rajasaari, an entire island reservesd only for dogs as well as giant dog parks where you can walk the path for half an hour before completing it. In Sipoo there is an entire forest solely for dogs where they can run wild. Try to do that in a rural forest while risking coming across the aforementioned unsocialized dogs.

If your dog doesn't get as much exersize as a rural dog (well some rural dogs, many are stuck in their yards) it is not because you lack for opportunities. And if your dog barks while you're away, you're a lovely dog owner whose dog would do that regardless of location.

Saarikko has had a bit of social democracy put into her and her children are half socialists, so I would say she's a left-leaning centrist.

Of course, Erkki Papunen is a bureaucrat in finance ministry, and all FiM social democrats will eventually join Cock...

Hän kiitti keskustalaisia luottamuksesta heti tuloksen selvittyä.

Tiede- ja kulttuuriministeri Saarikko sai vaalissa 1157 ääntä. Puheenjohtajan paikan hävinnyt Katri Kulmuni sai 773 ääntä. Hän johti keskustaa vain vuoden ajan.

I dunno, I had a nice day. Less than 30 minutes of cycling through and away from the city centre took me to my friend's house right next to the forest. Went strolling through trails with his dog for an hour and a half or so, then came back and had homemade apple pie with coffee, fired up the sauna, drank some local craft beers I had bought straight from the brewery couple of days earlier, ate some jerky, played board games, cycled home, watched tv for a bit. Didn't feel depressing, enjoyed the fresh air and slight rain, and felt better for having seen my buddies again.

Then again, it just might be the whisky that was generously offered to me talking.

I've been looking for a new apartment and the difference in price when you get out of Helsinki is nuts. Some 60s concrete bunker in Mellunmäki or Rastila or whatever goes for the same as a brand new place in a central location in Turku or some other place that passes for a city in this country. Of course new apartment buildings have a lot of problems wrt build quality but still.

Of course you could get omakotitalo out in pönde for a fraction of the price but then you also have to buy a car.

Already have multiple cars so that's not a issue, was already looking one old farmhouse with multiple buildings from 20mins from Tampere what was cheaper than my 2h+k Mellunmäki apartment. Can't just get decent price now from the apartment cause there's putkiremontin going on.

This avatar helped buy Lowtax a new skeleton.

If they actually built apartments where I didn't hear my neighbor snore, that didn't get to 35+ degrees in summer and less than 15 degrees in winter then maybe I could consider going back to apartment living.

My house is poo poo but at least it's cool in the summer and if it gets too cold I can just put on more clothes or crank up the heat. if I can't crank up the heat enough I have the option to spend money on other solutions without needing to prostrate myself before some council of fucks asking them "May I please spend money to make my existence even slightly more bearable?"

I gots opinions, and they are all poo poo.

For the longest time my apartment was only to store my body when I wasn't in work.
Used to stay after hours in work and work with cars/bikes or build something. The new management is just trying to prohibit everything and cancel everything non work relating stuff. Like clubs, own coffeemakers and in-house "magazine".

Now they are wondering why the moral is low and people are quitting or trying to get retired early. Both was unheard of previously.
They took getting the moral higher and making it the best workplace as their mission when the new CEO started :saddowns:
