Doesn't even have I'll Make A Man Out Of You (or any songs) They went for a Wushu style, but it's all Disneyfied so it sucks. Also the Bad Guy dies by shooting an arrow at the Emperor, the Emperor catching it, then throwing it in the air and Mulan kicking it back into him Not even worth the  DL time, it felt suuuuuuper generic, and should have been included with Disney+Curious if they'll send Black Widow out to digital as well.

Yeah it's actually worse than that. There are little music stings for most of the original movies songs but never full on performs them which is super frustrating. It has the exact same problem as every other Disney live remake where the best parts of the movie are things that were done better in the original and the new ideas are smothered to death by writers who seem terrified the idea of the idea of too much change. It tries so hard to justify it's existance and lean in on asian representation...but it's still written by four white guys.

Changing the entire point of the original's 'anyone can chase their their dream if they apply themselves' to 'anyone can chase their dream as long as they're born lucky'. The main reason the movie didn't get held back for theaters any longer was that it was always targeting the China market but the movie clocks in around half an hour longer than the maximum run time China is currently allowing for movies.

Huh, I remember watching some live action mulan movie earlier and I can't recall if it was bad or not. All I remember is at one point there's something called "the poison dragon" or some poo poo and it's like a mist or storm of green poison gas or something. The question is, is this new disney thing worse than something I can't really remember? Probably yes.

Yeah, so far all I know is that Cinderella and Maleficient are okay and everything is pretty lame as live action remakes go. Still waiting on them doing this with aggressively bad ideas like live action Lilo and Stitch or Hercules.
