I mean, the heroes were all on the backfoot fighting their respective Cadres and we had no indication on whether anyone besides Pig God was going to pull through and beat theirs. Tatsumaki's fight with Psykos disrupted things and then she pulled everyone out of the hideout when she had a moment. Instead of it being a Civil War thing with all the groups being together and fighting each other, Saitama could always dig Flashy Flash free and the two of them could wipe all of the Cadres out in no time. Or maybe Metal Knight sends another robot. Or Metal Bat arrives.
