this means everything except rick and morty and robot chicken will be cancelled

I for one am glad that all of the "last good [blank]"s are being canceled and/or dragged through mud so that we can stop using pop cultural as something to look forward to

from a soulless corporate perspective robot chicken is the most brilliant show ever made:

- it can be shot with nothing more than a 3d printer and a couple of cameras

- costs like 5 dollars an episode

- writing is so incredibly lazy (what if he-man got hit in the balls and said gently caress) that's its easy to translate

- designed for syndication so its more likely to get repeat airings

- seth green is friends with lots of celebrities so you can pretend you're shooting a real big boy hollywood show

at&t bought them and the new AS head killed all the shows, not just VB, so them pretending this is something about VB is hollow pr. tim heidecker says he doesn't even know what's going on with his contacts with them. they're also sitting on complete unaired seasons of eric andre and some other shows that they're probably going to try to use as hbo streaming exclusives

AS is dead through the galaxy brain business strategy of maximizing your honey profits by individually packaging and separately marketing each bee

yeah, it sounds like att cleaned house across everything and put their own people in charge so all the channels they bought up are going to go to poo poo over the next year as they try to position hbo max to compete with disney+

we got hbomax for free since we just moved and signed up for poo poo again and there's no way to not get it lol

but it's the shoddiest app i've seen in loving years, i got better goddamn usage out of netflix on my wii u, it's barely functional on ps4 and I haven't cared enough to see if it more than functions on pc

absolute shitshow and if it wasn't for Drop Dead Gorgeous being on it I would avoid using it out of principle

Following Mulan's release on Disney+ on Friday, some viewers began noticing a "special thanks" in the film's end credits to eight government entities in Xinjiang, including the public security bureau in the city of Turpan, where China is believed to operate over a dozen "re-education camps" that hold Uighurs in extra-judicial detention.

Hard to see exact lineups without being able to log in, but looks like they have the full series. Thinking of just like, watching and giving short reviews somewhere of each ep of the "good seasons" (up to s8 or so seems to be consensus) from the perspective of someone who's been surrounded by Simpsons quotes and memes his whole life but has only maybe watched half a dozen eps all the way through.

Possibly controversial, but season 4 was maybe the first truly great season. Season 1&2 are historically and/nostalgically relevant (I still remember how it felt to watch the first episode as it aired on our little black and white camper tv when I was 8) but feel pretty weak if you have a sense of what you think the show and the characters should be like, and season three has a lot of very good episodes, but season 4 was truly remarkable from beginning to end and is where every level of production was running at 100%

Season 8 was good, but you could tell the direction it was heading, and 9 was where it starts feeling uninspired.

i feel like Netflix blew up in part because there was so much content, the rise of separate streaming services is bringing back the worst days of cable packages, when customers had to pay more for additional channels.

It's the 1990s but instead of a cable service that mostly worked, you've got half a dozen apps

piracy is going to make a big comeback with regular people as the economy continues to decline and people realize they can watch Watchmen 3D: The Series for free without HBO+

we only have streaming services by dint of incident, netflix from inlaws, amazon from needing prime deliveries and hbomax from mandate by at&t

they're so loving bad now, they did an excellent job of making me regret having paid for them in years before because now I'll never hear the end of it and there will never be another good streaming service again

I can’t wait for our consumerist kleptocracy to declare digital piracy a threat to national security and start sending in the Amazon Inc. deaths squads to throw the poor bastard DL’ing TV shows and porn into forced labor at one of Kamala’s concentration camps, commonly known as private prisons on the stock market

"Oooh, got a little too serious. You okay there, little buddy?"
Do the streaming services even have the Simpsons in 4:3 aspect ratio? Cropping is a choice I can't make, so I have DVD rips of the Simpsons seasons 1-9 that my kids have been watching on random loop non stop for the last 3 months

And whenever I need some easy watching I've been putting Seinfeld episodes on, which is also hard to find uncropped, so DVD rips it is.
