Wasn’t there another dude on the Giants some years back who was into this stuff?

Kazak_Hstan posted:Is he supposed to be one gapping or two gapping here? If he’s one gapping he’s blowing poo poo up and someone else is getting beat badly. If he’s two gapping he’s over pursuing. A pretty good(but not perfect) rule of thumb is that if a guy is nose-to-nose with a blocker(and shoots his hands immediately into the chest of that blocker) he's 2-gapping. If he's lined up shaded over half of a blocker, he's 1-gapping. Not all 1-gap responsibilities are equal, though- there's circumstances, or whole schemes where a guy is playing more disciplined, not getting upfield, just kinda keeping their outside(or inside) arm free and influencing the runner to bounce inside(or outside, depending). Then there's situations(and entire schemes) where the job is to just to beat their blocker and get into the backfield regardless. That's Aaron Donald. He's doing what he's supposed to do, and doing it well on those plays. Other guys have other gaps, and the linebackers are responsible for playing off of what he's doing and handling that gap. With Albert Haynesworth teams have gone so far as to have their linebackers read him and see whatever crazy, undisciplined attack he was doing as well as the offenses blocking scheme. The guy is dumb or trolling or both.

The only thing football officials and some fans will take away from that was that he wasn't playing football, and not that a 20 year old athlete loving died from covid. I seriously think the nfl is only going to debate stopping this season when around week 5 someone like Mahomes or Brady tests positive. If that doesn't happen I doubt the ownership cares about anyone from the third line back straight up dying.

That's supposed to be a charming little dig, but in my mind's eye I can just see JJ at the Thanksgiving table, in a vein popping fury screaming at TJ that he can have some turkey when he's earned it. In this vision that one who became a fullback is facing the corner with a tarp thrown over him. He just seems like that kinda guy.
