I remember going to Wyatt's Cafeteria as a kid. Not sure how many of those there were, doesn't seem to have spread as wide as Luby's did. Ah well, RIP Luby's.

I remember as a little kid my parents would take me to Luby's and I would always get the green jello. I wonder how I remember that. As an adult I liked their chopped steak with onions and gravy, but it had the rapid liquidation effect already described in this thread.

Lubys closing is depressing as hell, but I think I can deal with it. I don't think I can handle Fuddruckers closing. Most of my childhood memories involving burgers were at Fuddruckers and I still grab food there with my old high school buddy once a month religiously. Best buns in the game and those giant chili dogs are on another level.

We used to go there after soccer practice. If you timed it right and were there in the 8:20-40 window, they were starting to prepare to close and would just walk around handing out free slices of pie they'd otherwise have to throw away.

Sir Tonk posted:id certainly prefer she win just so we can stop hearing dems whining about her not running for stuff I'd prefer her to win too, but I don't believe for an instant that the district has changed enough in the last two years for her to do better than the last Dem who ran in TX-21, Kopser who lost by 2 points. She's a significantly weaker candidate than Kopser and I full well expect her campaign to mostly be a consultant grift.

I think pledges like that can sometimes have real power if the Party starts going around threatening people who might break their pledge. It's been a big obstacle to tax reform. I don't know how much pro-police politicians would go round enforcing those pledges though. I guess there is a lot of scum out there.
