Dirk the Average posted:To be fair, priming sugar is added if you want to pressurize your beer in the bottle. After one too many mishaps (including a gallon jug of apple cider exploding after I put in a preservative), I started swapping over to kegs, especially for pressurizing. I had a keg of unfermented wort I forgot about that spontaneously fermented in the keg. When I opened the prv to degas it, it shot beer 30+ feet straight into the air for about 30-45 seconds straight before it depressurized. Kegs are not even safe.

The second one is great because of him watching a video of someone else screwing with white phosphorous with an expression of utter horror. Yes, just SMEAR the highly flammable and toxic material between your fingers as it smokes.

That's significantly better than having the vessel explode though, even if it's incredibly messy.

loving radical the expanded pic is even better, this one guy unawares wearing a cool mask, and the sparks up top look like they're coming out of a passing SUV. Also it looks like someone's running into the pole but actually I think they're just parked in a weird way.

LifeSunDeath posted:loving radical Oh to have a video of this... wrt to the sparks up, I think they still come from the pole explosion, and there's a lot more of them that you can see in the picture, but you only see the ones against a dark background or right next to the point of collision because of daylight. Are you allowed to park a car that close to a crosswalk? Alternative would be that it's a turning vehicle waiting for the pedestrian to get over.

Artemis J Brassnuts posted:Do you brew your own from scratch or carbonate a pre-made extract? I love root beer but moved to a country where it’s not really available (I miss being able to choose from like twenty varieties at my local BevMo). The latter: Pre-made extract. Can find it online, or around Lancaster Country (PA) here & there. Hires was the best. I really miss it. I can simulate birch beer by adding a touch of wintergreen, & a bit of vanilla extract. I haven't done it in several years, because the last two batches over-pressurized and I'm not sure what I was doing wrong with the yeast. Then I discovered that Victory makes a natural-fermented root beer that is nearly as good as making my own...but I have to go to their brewery in PainterofCrap fucked around with this message at 03:28 on Sep 14, 2020 |

https://youtu.be/yIMbvF2AocI A riveting saga of a twenty something year old YouTuber (who I mostly enjoy watching) rigging up mains fed natural gas to an unholy terror of taped together arduinos, that turns the gas totally off when the forge gets too hot.... Then automatically turns the gas back on With no pilot light or igniter. Just a vague promise to "remember not to set the PID to less than the auto ignition temperature. This will go well.

I snuck in as planned and emptied the fridge and freezer, expecting to not be back for weeks. Got the wife's jewelry and the PS4 (priorities) in case of looting/thieving. Apparently cops have arrested 27 people for attempts since I posed last. Im in a hotel and work is paying for some of it while I work through this. Today we got an email from the landlady subject line "Come on Home" saying the power is on, gotta boil the water and they went into everyone's apartments and emptied all the fridges. This is illegal right? Are they just trying to get places arguably habitable so they can keep charging us rent?

Landlords can enter your property in Oregon without your permission if "Responding to an emergency, which includes a repair problem that may cause serious damage to the premises if not fixed immediately". So, I'm going to go with it's probably illegal. Whether you want to fight them over it is a different story.
