Also, do we know if Hogan had any real input into the Tampa Hogan bar? Or was it a bar owned and operated by someone else who just paid a licencing fee to Hogan?

Yes, let's give admitted racist Hulk Hogan the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the restaurant with a racist dress code that has his name on it.

BrigadierSensible posted:Also, do we know if Hogan had any real input into the Tampa Hogan bar? Or was it a bar owned and operated by someone else who just paid a licencing fee to Hogan? most likely not. racist dress codes like that are not uncommon for bars/clubs (especially from that era) and whoever actually ran the place probably just copied over the same scheme he used to exclude black people from all his other venues. the alternative scenario of hulk hogan putting effort into something with his name on it is pretty hard to believe by comparison. BrigadierSensible posted:But that racist "Dress Code" was not really a dress code. It was so the managers could kick out any black person they wanted to, and point at the board out the front and say "Look, it says no white t-shirts. We aren't kicking you out coz we are racist, we are kicking you out coz of stated rules." And said rules cover such a wide and vague area that it covers just about every tourist that would ever step into a restaurant like that. No sports jerseys? No high top runners? No backward caps? This is also ignoring the No torn or soiled clothing, and No workout clothes. Pretty much, there's zero chance that a white guy in a basketball jersey gets turned down under those rules.

So due to Megabyte Ronnie looking old as hell despite being 31, it made me think of this one guy who showed up a few times on WCW Saturday Night who had the head of someone in his mid-50's, but was also completely jacked. He looked like some kind of science experiment where they put an old man's head on a young man's body. Anyone know who I'm talking about?

Yeah, that was the first guy I thought of. Better known to the IWC as THE MACHINE. Hale wasn't super shredded or anything, but he was swole enough to make his head look comically small.

I figured I would just look at the WCW Saturday Night cards on Cagematch, start from the last episode and look up anyone I didn't recognize the name of. Sounded like a needle in a haystack, but I IMMEDIATELY found who I was thinking of. Frankie Lancaster. Apparently he was part of WCW for years as part of the C-shows with his biggest appearance being a 2-minute win on an episode of Thunder.

Sammartino was during a period of weird signings. Guys that you hadn't thought about in years and most had no business appearing on Nitro or Thunder. Rick Martel was good until he was injured, but there was Sammartino and Greg Valentine.
