if I got the 60 eggs I'd probably eat like 8 in one sitting and then make like 10 devilled eggs with scorpion peppers and eat them later in the day and then mash 2 up with avocodos for a sandwich for lunch tomorrow then take the last 40 and pickle them

Further googling suggests that Rashi mentioned "some people believed this". Real self-promoter, him, managed to get a sweet deal on having his exegeses integrated into the Hebrew/Onkelos Torah, everybody knows who he is.

on the one hand, everyone manually driving a car needs to show diligence where the 'safety driver' of this uber vehicle failed to do so

on the other hand, many people manually driving cars do not show this same diligence, and the level of adherence to safety standards will plummet in the case of any mass adoption of supposed self driving cars, so...

i guess it all depends on how much you trust barely regulated corporations to look out for the public's best interest

The amount of due diligence you'd have to show to avoid this accident completely eliminates the point of having a self driving car.

that last one is gonna result in killing someone too eventually, either keeping a driver from swerving away from someone or tearing the wheel out of someones hand when it didn't need to and killing the driver or one of the passengers.

You need the car to be controlled by the road, not itself. Put them on rails. Then connect a bunch of them together. And just build a train.

It's worth pointing out that the Uber self driving car here failed in it's task utterly. There were fundamental flaws in the programming of the car which lead to the crash, this is 100% a case of corporate homicide due to negligence on Uber's part.

But if you pay someone less than minimum wage to sit behind the wheel with strict instructions to never actually touch the wheel unless there's someone right in front of the car you're absent all corporate responsibility.

AFAIK most countries still have laws saying that fully self driving cars are not allowed and each car should have a driver who is 100% responsible for what the car does. They have these laws exactly to prevent crashes like these where the driver says it's the AI's fault and they weren't paying attention because they felt it's not their job to make sure their car doesn't kill anyone. The driver is not allowed by law to leave the driving to the AI.

Uber is definitely trying to circumvent these rules and use minimum wage slaves as patsies for murder by car + negligence and should be punished as well but the lady behind the wheel is 100% responsible for a death caused by the car that she was the driver of, self driving car or no.

I understand that, but if a company owned bus kills someone because the brakes failed the company is considered responsible, not the employee driving the bus.

If the brakes fail while underway, sure. But if the driver knows the brakes are not functioning before she enters the bus but it is company policy to drive buses with broken brakes she does not get to hide behind orders from her corporate overlord and is, in fact, responsible. Being asked to do something by your corporate overlords does not absolve you of having to obey the law.

I'd like to stress that there is no dichotomy here, both can be responsible. Like with murder-for-hire, there is no need to ask whether the murderer or the one putting out the hit is responsible, they can both be guilty of a crime.
