It is utterly badass, but it was not 115 feet. There is no official measurement of the height for that particular wave on that day (Jan 18, 2018). The official world record for largest wave ever surfed sits at 80 feet. There are unverified (but credible) claims of people surfing 100 foot waves. Does this also have anything to do with the Hawaiian system of measuring waves from the back and yields a much smaller height than most people would expect looking at the face?

I've been trying to find a video that I believe was posted earlier in the thread. It was a poker tournament, where one dude said gently caress it, and went all-in on every hand without looking at the cards, and he kept winning. The video broke down the astronomical odds, and I think it was called "I hate playing this game" or something similar. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I rewatched it on youtube just a few weeks ago; it was taken down recently due to a copyright claim according to what I saw from a little googling. It's obviously fair use but it's not like that matters to youtube's extremely hosed up copyright infrastructure.
