It basically took characters on the show to point at Stormfront and call her a racist for some to get it.

And the showrunners to say she's Liberty, who is a racist.

e-

Now the argument is that's shes racist but not a nazi!

I love that they release the show on Thursday night. Have they confirmed the next season yet?

That's a good point, I feel like vought has the resources and talent to give that guy a new dick. Hell, with how edgelord the comics are, I'm surprised that gecko isn't selling secondhand dicks.

The send-ups of Whedonisms as well as the parallels to Whedon Justice League (having the black guy forced to say uncharacterstic lines), with the fake Agent Coulsin and hordes of CG enemies in New York were hilarious. This whole episode was really good.

also the desperate "I can't protect you" like from Maeve. The only way you can protect somebody (and therefore yourself) in that position is by giving the abuser exactly what they want, which is awful.

Gecko brand skin treatment for burns. Just peels off his skin onto a spool, then it gets shipped to hospitals.

... Man, I wonder what his blood type is? Gecko is probably the most useful hero with "real world" applications. No more organ donor shortages, every 45 year old dude gets a full head of hair, etc etc etc.

I really liked how they showed that, yeah, he wants to do that, but recognizes how horrifying it would actually be in the aftermath. Homelander's got the mentality of a 13 year old boy, and Starr plays it amazinigly.

it's a parallel to the in-universe tie-in comic books in the comic, for modern mass audiences who don't read comics as much as they watch comic book movies

I can see why people didn't like Black Noir this episode.

But remember you basically had to be a company man to get on to the Seven (aside from Stormfront who was put there without Homelanders approval). I could see why he's Edgars lap dog.

And Black Noir is the platonic ideal of "company man." He has no loving identity outside of Vought whatsoever. No voice, no face, no self-identified gender, no sexuality, no race, no ideology or worldview, nothing. Just a mask with a camera feed direct to the CEO (who he's associated with Handel's "Messiah").

I'm not going to rewatch it right now, but I bet that the kid's toy in the early episode was a Vought-branded product. In which case, he wasn't interacting with the child; he was loving advertising.

I was kinda surprised at how bad noir's hiding was.

Unless it was on purpose as an intimidation tactic?

It seems like they can't make up their minds if he's a super ninja, or clumsy doofus.

I read it partly as a sight gag pointing out how silly Batman would be if he ever operated in the daytime. But also by that point he didn't really need to stay hidden - he was able to follow them and observe them without being noticed until the point that they were all sitting ducks inside a house, and it seems like his goal was a confrontation instead of just recon anyway.

It matches up with him doing stealthy takedowns on the terrorist compound guys but then just letting the last one blast him even though he obviously could have easily avoided it. I think he just likes intimidating / toying with people. MM said he can outrun a car so it's not like they could have gotten away from him anyway.
