pretty fucking embarrassing to watch
I don't think they've said how the VOD will work: but if its like the other Cyberfight promotions it'll either be on a few hours delay or a three day delay (most are the latter but they rush some shows to get them up quicker; generally things with more important matches they can't stream live) since that's how they do things and I don't see any reason why NOAH would be any different.

Half the tournament including the finals being live & free on Abema rules. Cyberagent have really done well by NOAH fans so far.

If they are going to rush anything I'd hope it's the 20th September show as waiting 3 days would mean seeing it after the next show has been on. Which isn't the end of the world & I'm used to a lot worse from trying to follow last year's N-1 but that'd be the ideal situation.

That rules.

Anyway, JoJo Remy at Voices of Wrestling previewed the N-1 Victory, which starts tomorrow with a really exciting card. If you're new to NOAH I think it does a good job describing who the field are.

https://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2020/09/17/noah-n-1-victory-2020-preview/

I am so fascinated to see what happens between Kenoh and Nakajima because even though he's in Kongo it is hard to see Nakajima playing second fiddle to Kenoh. Even little things like him sitting in the corner while the rest of Kongo do their cute group pose. I don't expect a straightforward repeat of their Nation title match from August but I imagine they will still kick the poo poo out of each other out of principle if nothing else.

Thanks for posting that write up. This is the first N-1 I will watch with only a short delay and I'm new to NOAH.

Today's show was so loving good. Flew by, 2 really good matches, 1 terrific match, & Inamura vs Sugiura was also really fun. Could've done with maybe one less non-tournament match but then I wasn't one of the fans who bought a ticket.

Did think it was weird how completely blacked out the audience was though.

everyone seems to be raving about the noah card and saying it blew the cc out of the water. i'd give it a try if it weren't for the timing as three loving simultanous leagues are my absolute limit as is. the cc may not be as good but it's a lot shorter with less overlap with new japan

Ah man, just give the opening show a go, it's free on Wrestle Universe. And there's only one full show that overlaps with the G1 which IIRC is about the same as the CC. Bare minimum catch Kaito vs Mochi & Kenoh vs Nakajima. Terrific matches.

Anyway, I got exceedingly sidetracked and failed to get the weekly schedule complete in time, so I'll just post the Saturday shows & edit in the rest of the week tomorrow, because I've gotta sleep for the G1.

quote:

KAITO KIYOMIYA

KIYOMIYA (about Masaaki Mochizuki): I want to do it again! That's all.

MASAAKI MOCHIZUKI

MOCHIZUKI: Just a minute, I'm 50 years old, let me sit down. Well, I know how Kaito Kiyomiya has achieved results while young, but I don't think I was scared to face Kiyomiya in a single. Today I was full of confidence, there was no plan, and it became a shoot down simulation in 22 minutes. The one on one singles match meant I saw more than imagined in a big way. To be honest, I wondered if he couldn't step into the end because he didn't take the plunge in not a good attack (rough, doesn't translate well). Well, in terms of stamina, he's not the only one who is doing his best, but you can't beat your twenties. So, today is a plus 1, I am going to interpret it as getting 1 point today. Well, in 5 games, I can get 2 points, 3 points...3 points just barely. Maybe its 2 points, but I don't think it's possible to win all of this with this member, so for that first point I have attached a mark to Kiyomiya. I will do a lot of calculations, and aim for the top in my own way.
Q: You were very cautious about the Tiger Suplex?
MOCHIZUKI: Before coming out today I came from the dojo in Kobe, so I didn't let him throw the first one, but I think I could tell the Tiger Suplex from his stance, which is why I drove my heel into his knees. That was the secret plan. Taking another was dangerous, but I think everyone around me is wary, and I don't think that most people are going to be able to calculate to use the rope above their head*. I had the image of Kiyomiya's Tiger Suplex, and I was able to prevent it twice. His blow is heavy though, and is something I managed. When you see him in a magazine or from afar, he looks kind and delicate, but when have a singles with him, he looks big, that's for sure. So that's why I want to be happy that I got one point today, and I think that fighting for 30 minutes is a plus for fighting with stamina.#

*Mochi cleverly got a rope break by making sure his feet fell on the ropes when Kiyomiya went for a Tiger Suplex.
I love everything about this

Please recommend me Mochi matches, I've become a fan

vs Shingo from 2015
vs Kzy from 2018
Unfortunately his best match vs BxB Hulk is only on rutube and I don't have an account, so here's a fun little match between the two from a few years ago

Assume you mean the Kobe World match 2011? BiliBili, comes through

For something a bit earlier in his career, I'd recommend this match from 2003 Toryumon, a 4-way Trios title elimination match with Italian Connection (featuring Milano Collection AT), Do FIXER, Crazy MAX & Mochi's group Shin M2K (original M2K was a really funny, dumb group in the Toryumon tradition)

I need to watch that 95 J Cup match because I've never seen pre-Toryumon Mochizuki

I think my Holy Grail for Mochizuki would be the Mochizuki Produce shows that he ran across 2007 through 2009 & then again in 2011. You just got some real fun mixtures of DG guys & indie guys: the first show had Danshoku Dino vs Akira Tozawa, CIMA, Matt Sydal & BxB Hulk vs original Kaientai DX members TAKA, Dick Togo & MEN'S Teioh & then a main event of Mochi & Minoru Tanaka vs Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita. And one of the 2008 shows had what I think was the first Shingo Takagi vs Daisuke Sekimoto match which would be rad to see. They just look super fun on paper.

I am desperately wanting to find out when/if the last 2AW show airs because stuff happened. And while I'm not the most invested in the promotion (today I found out that 2AW English language Twitter is a very small thing but does exist which is fun but surprising) Still not found any date but I am hopeful it will turn up in the usual spots eventually

From what I can gather Dinosaur Takuma has turned heel (& presumably changed his name because you can't be a heel dinosaur) & created a new stable & has been joined by Ayumu Honda & Taishi Takizawa from Tempest & I think CHANGO as well. No idea what has happened to other Tempest member Shu Asakawa. They may be called The Andrew Kingdom or something may be lost in translation but I really hope not. I hope this means less bad gear of Takuma

That has been your 2AW update. No results spoiled, just an angle

The NOAH Juniors are usually second fiddle and especially during this tournament but there was some pretty fascinating action after the undercard 6 man tag between Stinger and Harada, YO-HEY and Okada.

YO-HEY attacked Harada to complete the collapse of RATEL'S and then walked off. Stinger start beating on Harada, the Kongo Jrs get involved, then Sugiura-gun and it's a whole mess and Atsushi Kotoge comes out to save Harada, they shake hands then Kotoge's Full Throttle team mates get pissed at that and attack Kotoge and Harada and YO-HEY joins them and it's an overbooked mess but in such a way it was fun to watch and at least they've done something with YO-HEY and Harada.

Just not going to think too hard about the fact Full Throttle has only existed for a handful of months.

Also MOTYC man Fujita will be back in NOAH for the N1 final show

Much quieter week this week. NOAH, AJPW & DG all clashing on Saturday is a pain in the arse but other than that it's mostly just G1, which my brain for one is grateful for because last weeks pace (where I have still to see the CC show but otherwise caught every other tournament show last week live except when NOAH & NJPW clashed so I watched NOAH later). Really do hope the Assemble show is taped.

Oh poo poo, I just skipped this match because I was on my third event of the day, going back to watch it now. Tentatively excited about a Momo no Seishun reunion, they were great whenever they made the trip over to Chikara back in the Osaka Pro days

Shamefully I only noticed this morning. Could've sworn I checked on the NOAH site & it was live but apparently I made that up :(

I very much appreciate the work you put in to keep up the weekly schedule, whenever I feel like I'm missing wrestling I can always just check the thread to see what's happening.

I switched over to Dragon Gate during the intermission and Ultimo just brought out The Bodyguard to face Maria I guess? Which is loving weird.

Okay, no it's Bodyguard vs Dragon Kid. Less weird.
