I haven't asked for details but I'm pretty sure my pharmacist might be doing a fraud for the benefit of his customers by charging more, submitting for coverage, then forgiving or charging less than the full copay. I'm going to keep going to that pharmacist until I die if I can help it.

Does anyone have a good primer/explainer for what's going on in Nova Scotia right now with chuds attacking Mi'kmaq fishing boats?

Hand Knit posted:Does anyone have a good primer/explainer for what's going on in Nova Scotia right now with chuds attacking Mi'kmaq fishing boats? I don't have a detailed understanding of the situation but as I understand it, the courts ruled that the Mi'kmaq are entitled to make a modest living fishing in their traditional territorial waters, subject to conservation-oriented catch limits, and without significant further government oversight, and the chuds are pissed off that indigenous people are having a boot taken off of their necks just a little by not being subject to the same regulations as non-indigenous fisheries. I've also seen notes that the chuds aren't pissed off at the megacorps that get even bigger exceptions to limits with basic tiny slaps on the wrist for breaking the destructively generous limits that those megacorps already get, so that means the tl;dr is racism.

The BCLibs seem especially quiet of late with a leader who cant help up come across as a huge idiot whenever he opens his yap so it is a pretty good opportunity I guess.

Relative the rest of Canada theyve done a better than average job of handling COVID. The rent subsidy in particular made a big difference through the worst of quarantine. Im pretty comfortable voting BCNDP this time around. Horgan has surpassed the insanely low bar of not as awful as Ford or Kenney.

not sure why the bcndp wouldnt just put forward a plan at the leg and let it get voted down by the libs and the greens and blame an election on them, this is dumb as hell

BGrifter posted:I dunno. Relative the rest of Canada theyve done a better than average job of handling COVID. The rent subsidy in particular made a big difference through the worst of quarantine. yeah I agree. part of the covid handling, infection and death rates in BC could be due to pure luck with when spring break was, but overall theyve done what appears to be a pretty good job. The schools reopening could probably have been handled better but with all those school districts and just seeing what most schools have, administration wise it was surprising it wasnt even more of a poo poo show. Well see how it goes once schools start having outbreaks and how well the cohort systems will mitigate that of course. I grumble about calling an election now because its just another thing to deal with but there isnt really much chance of me not voting bcndp regardless. ^^^^ also agree!

Exactly, Weaver stepped down due to health reasons, but had some snarky tweet about activists in the party around the same time that may have played a role in his decision. Theyre probably more on board with working with the NDP than before.

Work in a print shop. A retired person of means has ordered 250 24"x16" lawn signs that read "end equalization now" and 250 stickers 8.5"x11" of the same to put around the city of 60,000 people here in Alberta. No follow up chud website, no election coming, just END EQUALIZATION NOW. Who is this for and where will I see them around town? Can't wait to find out.

It is funny to me that Moe Sihota keeps getting trotted out to do interviews and panel discussions on behalf of the NDP because he is definitely a throwback to the "bad old days" and it's amazing to me he gets kept around. He must have some serious dirt on somebody.
