Nigel Tufnel posted:x-posting from the small questions thread as I didn't get much joy. Any kitchen painting goons help me out? That rough texture looks like typical latex orange peeling. That will take a fair amount of scraping and sanding. I am not a fan of latex on woodwork like doors especially, even if it is mdf because the door will always have an annoying tendency to stick slightly to the cabinet face. It's a pretty neutral stuff to apply indoor, but I'd go with an oil based satin finish. edit- that's going to be nasty poo poo to sand, and I'd go mainly with scrapers judiciously applied.

actionjackson posted:ohhh ok that makes more sense You know how people post "that bedroom is bigger than my last apartment"? I'm convinced some of those cavernous mcmansion bedrooms effectively are apartmentments. You've got a sleeping area, a sitting area, a big rear end tv, and often a desk working area, plus of course the huge bathroom for relaxing. The kids bedrooms are also studio sized with all the amenities tv, video games, en suite bathroom, etc. Nobody has to leave their room except to occasionally visit the kitchen. That way the livingroom and lawyer foyer stay nice for guests.

I'm realizing having one side chair would be good, I used to have a couple wobbly piece of crap ikea ones in my entry before I did all my decluttering (also they no longer matched once I changed the paint). It would be good to have post-covid (i.e. in ten years), but also it's very useful for when I put my shoes on, which is frequent due to taking Abby out. I think black legs are best because walnut legs will be too similar to my medium oak floor. The other stuff I have with legs have black or close to black legs and it definitely works better. https://www.dwr.com/kitchen-dining-chairs-benches/about-a-chair-12-side-chair/2514605.html?lang=en_US I like how the chair has some actual curvature to it, since I don't have much of that in my place currently.

Did someone mention ridiculous penthouses? So I know we get into fights sometimes over what looks good, stylish, tasteful and so on, but I think we can all agree that this suite is the ugliest loving thing in the world, right? It's was designed by Damien Hirst, the same loving hack behind that bedazzled skull. And for $10,000 a night you can stay in this style brief for "place to do cocaine off of super models asses" that someone's kid put stickers all over.

I have a friend, who for the context of the story, is an attractive late 20s/30 year old woman. Through some social circles, she is friends with a girl who appears to be a professional sugar baby who has done pretty well for herself as far as dating or being a "companion with some very rich people. As far as I can tell they are all "executives" for pill mills and "pain management" companies. Anyway, one of her sugar daddies took the sugar baby as well as my friend to Vegas a year or two ago and they stayed in that penthouse. It is seriously ugly, and the only selling point is that it was apparently "the most expensive penthouse/hotel room in the world".
