Here in Europe they are an online raffle release you have to sign up for in the Adidas app, don’t think they’re a GR.

I linked the hayride set to my wife and before I knew it she's buying it for my daughter It's really ridiculously cute

I'm not seeing it. There haven't been many Halloween themed mini sets but this one is the first I didn't like. The last one was much more interesting. This just looks sparse.

It happens to have all my daughter's favorite things in it (skeleton, bat, spider, pumpkins, and haystacks) so that was my selling point

The Hayride looks kinda neat, might be nice to tack onto a bigger buy or something. Elf Club House (pre-orders 9/23) and The Child (pre-orders later today - 4pm EST) are up on the lego store now btw. How is the availability on the christmas creator sets typically? Sorta tempted to get the club house but would rather wait till there's the chirstmas GWP or something.

Just got my Cantina and Yoda Lightsaber delivered. Did everyone get the Lightsaber in a yellow box with pieces in a ziplock? Or do I count myself lucky that I got one of the last they scrambled to throw together?

I haven’t opened mine but it came in a yellow box with what looks like a normal LEGO inner box. This was from the LEGO store.

Loads of people are complaining on Eurobrick that the lightsaber being added to carts was pot luck. I'd complain. At worst you'll probably get some VIP points added to your card, at best you'll get the GWP. They still have stock of it in stores in the UK at least.

sigher posted:This just looks so bad. The busts always do, going all the way back to the first Yoda and Maul ones 15+ years ago. Lego just isn’t a great medium for replicating all the curves and fine angles of organic shapes, at least in the way that official sets are designed. Some MOC busts look good but they usually use a lot of specialty pieces or fragile techniques.

It is ugly and Lego could make it snot if they wanted, but they do tend to look better in person. Natural lighting kind of smooths out the jaggginess.

I ordered these IRIS containers to help pack stuff away, but when they actually arrived I was worried that I'd measured them wrong. Turns out you can get 2 side by side on an Ivar, and they can swallow some lightly disassembled UCS ships pretty easily. Bit spendy but they do the trick. The Snowspeeder will fit in one piece, but I took the wings off in preparation for more packing in.

I hate them, because they sit closed for a year and when you open them up you get blasted with a cloud of VOCs. It's nauseating.

I've been thinking about what kind of container would be best for transporting some of my larger sets. Last time I moved I just took the easily lost bits off my helicarrier and double bagged it in trash bags, and still ended up losing a piece. Need to find a big plastic tub for it since I'm going to be putting it into storage soon.

Get a big cardboard box, wrap the sets in t-shirts as you unload your dresser/closet, and place it all in the box. Maybe tape the seams from the inside so any pieces that fall off don't escape the box. Or disassemble everything into ziploc bags so you can build it all over again at your new home.

Just don't drop the boxes.

Comboed the cantina with some other sets to make it look more like a city. Not sure if I like it or if it just looks like a clusterfuck yet. Might pull some of it out to give it some room to breath. Also, have 6 Bith musicians now but couldn't really find a way to display them together so most of them went into the cantina with the rest of the doubles.

FWIW I think they match great and look very organic and matching with each other, location wise I think the wood fits great, you could easily imagine it as one of those cities built in cliffs or caves
