I tried reading some Moon Over June back when it first started appearing in these threads, and it's certainly bad by the art never struck me as all that bad. It's not something I'd look at just for the art, and certainly not art that turns me on even when that and to be its intent, but to me it seems fine enough to be unremarkable. Like, if that art was used for a bad comic that wasn't as horny as MOJ is, I think we'd all just forget about it in thirty seconds. And if it was used in a comic that had actual good writing I think I'd even be able to look past it and read anyway! Just like with Achewood or Gamer Dilber or, for some of you, Hitmen For Destiny (which I never got into, maybe in part because of the art). I mean, if you want an example of truly hideous and off-putting art that someone puts effort into, look at Gobliins.

Someone with artistic skill draw MOJ faces on Moomins and call it Moomin Over Joomin. TIA.

I think Moon over June is just impressive in how it takes "hot lesbians who have graphic sex all the time" and manages to make it completely unsexy. It takes one of the most popular straight dude jerkoff fantasies and makes it a complete bonerkiller. Gotta respect that.

Reminded of a lot of discussion in the webcomics thread. Overall, you can get away with bad and amateur art if it's in service to the story and basically good enough, and the artist clearly isn't expecting you to get into it for the visuals. Powerup Comix as above started as a parody of zero-effort/zero-talent gamer comics and more recently used that as a springboard to get weird, with the obvious low effort and open copyright infringement becoming part of the janky charm. What people hate on is art that's just plain bad and writing that doesn't make up for it, especially when the art clearly stagnates and doesn't move past low-effort short cuts despite having more than enough time and opportunity to do so. ChubbyChecker posted:perhaps the artist meant it Thing is that it goes the other way and makes the lesbians in question absolutely horrible people as well.

Comics are pretty much just art and writing. Either of these things can be bad. In MoJ's case, it's both.

Along with everything else, I'm still shocked at their stance of "If it's a girl we'll raise it, but if it's a boy it's going up for adoption." Like what, are they planning on raising their girl to be culturally lesbian and hope she never wises up? Or maybe touching a penis makes them melt like the wicked witch of the west.

Just for funzies: Assuming a 30.06 subsonic bullet moving at 305 m/s, the speed of sound is 343 m/s, 30.06 effective range is about 914 m at which range the bullet would take 3 seconds to hit but the sound will hit in 2.664. so at max range Wally has just a third of a second to 1.understand the threat and 2.fall in the bullet's path. These are some well honed gamer skills.
