What is the means of production in this argument? Is it still the means of production? If so that actually kinda makes sense. A good post. Yes.

Even if you don't go that far like, the idea that gender conflict and indeed the existence of gender is predicated on the imbalance of power between the two genders and that resolving that imbalance would eliminate much of the structure of the division and that is desirable because the division holds prevents both from truly self actualizing is like... yes, correct, good, do that thing.

there wolf posted:Tartans are one of the best examples of negative cultural appropriation. Scots did make and wear tartans maybe even going back to before Roman times, and different patterns may have had different regional associations which may have been starting to turn to clan/military associations during the 18th century. Then the English passed a law banning tartan (and other Gaelic customs) as a way to suppress Scottish independence during the Jacobite rebellions. Then forty years later after the Jacobites imploded, the law was repealed after a bunch of rich fucks in London lobbied for it, leading to it becoming a fashionable craze with spawned the whole false history with clan tartans and all that stuff. At what point does that, itself, become historical culture though? Like sure, Clan MacGobshite decided that pattern was their "Clan Tartan" in like 1830, but it's been a couple centuries and they've been consistent with it.

In the same way that the tartans were established as proto-tourist tat is also historical culture.

God, that reminds me of some film critique video about Midway that youtube threw at me recently. The narrator goes into detail critiquing the lack of interpersonal connections between characters in midway, goes on to provide a counter-example, then the next thing I hear is "One of the most legendary memorable relationships in all of storytelling is the one between Batman and the Joker". Nerds, please.

As someone who recently finished Arkham Asylum, City, and half of Origins, I feel more than qualified to say that the relationship between Batman and Joker is terribly uninteresting and should never be repeated or emulated.

When you watch the film The Dark Knight you're watching a fictional story about Batman and Joker, when you go to a Holocaust Museum you're learning about the Holocaust.
