I saw Janikowski kick a 61-yarder to end the half at a Browns game like 12 years ago. It looked like a goddamn mile away, sitting in the Dawg Pound with my frozen Coors. Dude is a beast.

It was a 64 yarder against the Texans, from where it hit the upright it looked like it would've been good from 70 no problem.

IIRC there was also that brief period from 1999-2001 where the league only had 31 teams, so somebody had to get a bye week one, and every other team in their division lost, so they technically lead it at 0-0.

issuing a team a loss if they miss a game because of covid would be a pretty powerful incentive to not get covid, although i don't know how you'd handle team-to-team transmission in that case.

Week 12, the Ravens play the Steelers. Ravens contract covid on purpose beforehand and both teams forfeit their next game. The following week, the Ravens play the Cowboys and the Steelers play the Football Team. Now there's no guarantee that the Ravens would lose to the Cowboys but it is far from a lock for them to win it. Forcing the Steelers to take the L against Washington: worth it?

You can get false negatives if tested too soon after exposure. Ideally the players and staff would all be quarantined individually and tested multiple times for like 5-10 days.

It's pretty astounding that an organization like the NFL is still using tests that apparently can throw false positives instead of using PCR tests. I guess that'd be a lot to deal with but using a test that cannot throw a false positive vs. a test that will throw multiple false positives seems unnecessarily dumb.
