Humphreys posted:After a number of years, finally got the GM workshop Virtual Machine up and running to aide with my fiddling... I should do that. I've got a GM Service Info from like 2005, I think it is. Came in handy a few times. Got it when we had a 2000 Astro. I thought about trying to get it to work on Win10, but a (Windows 7? XP?) VM is a much better idea, since it needs Apache and some other specific stuff. BuckyDoneGun posted:I think Im the only other one here with a JDM Infiniti - 2006 Fuga 450GT. The rise of online retailers and the decline of brick and mortar meant the states were feeling left out of potential $$, and we can’t have that, now, can we?

So I hit up Wonderspaces today. They've been spamming up my Facebook feed, and one of the permanant installations is one I've always wanted to see - it was originally a temporary installation at the original Day for Night in Houston. "Hoshi" by Nonotak. It appears to be a permanent installation at Wonderspaces. Kinda expensive for what amounts to a light show in a warehouse, but pretty awesome. They had a VR dining room using some kind of Oculus VR set, which was loving awesome. $500 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with 1/4 million miles and the original CVT. Bad idea or really bad idea? Everything works on it, it occasionally throws a message about the transmission overheating (but it started doing that around 50k.. she's been changing the fluid every 30-50k). Friend selling it bought it newish (it was a demo, so had ~2k on it). Shitload of delivery miles. Kinda considering it since Brokeback has a howling front or center diff... also, $500. Not even one paycheck. Tires are decent, no CEL, tags are expired (but I know it'll pass inspection fine, NBD and I can print a 30 day temp tag). Interior is basically new except for the driver's seat. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 02:13 on Oct 8, 2020 |

I'm looking at it more as a "running and driving $500 vehicle with no maintenance debt and working AC, should be able to pass safety and smog". If I jump on it, I'd have to find a ride to Dallas (either hitch a ride with roommate when he goes to visit his mom, or Greyhound), toss a new battery in it (it's been parked since she got her Niro - ~6 months), change the oil, drive it back. Junk it when the CVT shits itself.

For some reason, I'm catnip for the gents, but unluckily for me I'm definitely 100% straight. Sometimes think it'd be way easier to be in a gay relationship but After my relationship of nearly 8 years ended last September, and a bunch of other terrible poo poo happened directly afterwards (a car accident, three family deaths within a week, life and business plans shattered by Covid) I've been deliberately flying solo and just working on myself and trying to become happy with who I am and my place in the world, and on the whole it's been turning out great and I thought it would continue for a good while longer. And yet, somehow, I've been seeing this girl for the past month, with a similarly complicated history, and it's been pretty wild. I never thought I would feel like a teenager again, butterflies when she texts me and everything, but here we are life is strange.

Mechanically fine although some burn a little oil, nothing major just a slight top off between services, and the steering rack mount bushes go and aren’t available as replacements, you need a new rack. 5 speed auto is boring but solid and smooth. All aluminium double wishbone front and multi link rear. With the engine so far back and the 4WS, the turn in is wicked and really hides the bulk. I wanted a V8 but couldn’t afford a late model Commodore nor did I want to pay the bills on anything German. This flies under the radar. Here the govt helped fund nationwide FTTH, initially to 75% of the population by 2019 then in 2017 they upped it to 87% by 2022. Rural Broadband outside of those areas is provided by wireless, 4G and now rolling out 5G, but I think there's also more fibre rollouts to beat that 87% number coming too. Govt staked a few billion in interest free loans for wholesale "local fibre companies" (4 of them) to do the build out, and those companies wholesale network access to the retail ISP's. Wholesale pricing is regulated. Currently the standard fibre install is free to the consumer. (Real cost is around NZ$2400 per home) I should be paying NZ$75/mo for unlimited 900/400. If the fibre ever goes down (it hasn't really, not for more than a few short outages anyway) my house is under 100m away from towers for the 3 mobile networks so can max out 4G, usually get 100mbit on my 6S. Oh and they've now started rolling out 10gbit FTTH, initially at 2000/2000 and 4000/4000 plans for around NZ$150 and $180 respectively. Things like this and Covid pushing people to WFH has meant outfits like Weta Digital are ditching their compute cluster and moving to AWS or Azure, and digital artists are WFH with cloud cluster rendering.

Got the radar cruise control, Bose system, etc, pretty much the same as your Fuga, just no 4WS and Type P doesnt have an LSD or paddle shifters. Yeah I cant imagine the difference having that amount of torque but this thing is already crazy fast for me. All my life I've had either a Lada or loaned my dad's 1997 VW Golf.
