Correct that to "main city." And if you don't like outdoors poo poo then you are gonna have a real bad time in BC.

Vancouver is beautiful, and BC has great farmland. It's weather allows for more fruit crops and gardens survive there. The only "downside" to this is that Vancouver has higher homeless population because you are less likely to freeze to death on the streets. Leave Vancouver and Victoria into the rural areas and you run into the same poo poo you will find in any other province.

Quebec/Montreal seems dope, went to joe beef last year. BC is nice Have not spent any considerable time in any other province Canada is a weird place, agree with every province hating each other. I think it's just low pop and geography. AND history and politics and other countries loving with us a bit. Canada is those shopping centers with canada tire, Mark's work warehouse, source, Walmart, maybe a loblaws grocery store and some chain restaurants. That's my low grade opinion from the Alberta farm belt.

There's a lot of racism in Quebec and the Native peoples are treated like poo poo. As to the why, it's a good question. The answer is mostly stupid and ugly. There's a great documentary called Qubkoisie that goes into our relationship with one another and explores that very question very well. Someone mentioned Montreal weather and yeah it's loving 22 degrees right now which is weird as we've been between 12-14 for a while and it went down to zero a few nights ago. The summers are beautiful here. Winter is another story and I will forever hate it. When we're not in the middle of a pandemic, summer in Montreal is great. Sitting on a terrasse at sunset with a couple of buddies and pints, with fumes of legal weed gently caressing your hair in the warm summer breeze, there's plenty of good times to be had. Some burroughs have a very special soul to them, Hochelaga, Rosemont, the frenchier part of downtown before you go too far west, the Village... there's a shitload of places around the world I wish to visit in my lifetime but I don't see myself living anywhere else really. e: Regarding Natives and how they're being treated here... Something huge right now is Joyce Echaquan's death. She was in the hospital in Joliette, Qubec, and started a Facebook Live as nurses were calling her a dumb **** and racist remarks just before she passed away on that hospital bed. There's overmedication involved that led to her death, too. It's a major story here right now and stirred up a lot of poo poo that's been building up... NMS: quote:Indigenous woman records slurs by hospital staff before her death There's been some ongoing drama about the Quebec PM meeting or not and eventually meeting with Native chiefs, the PM condemning what happened but once again denying there's systemic racism in Quebec... Yet it was this year that the Montreal police publicly admitted to systemic racism and some (bullshit) plan to tackle it... Bronze Fonz fucked around with this message at 19:13 on Oct 10, 2020 |

I've a question! Not about Quebec but about elsewhere: What the heck is up with all those weird towns East of Vancouver. Places like Kamloops and Kelowna. I've met an unusual amount of internet people from these places and everything about them just seems like depression, meth addiction and oil trains. Seems like a good place for a skramz scene but you don't even have that!

The Real Amethyst posted:I've a question! Not about Quebec but about elsewhere: When people talk about BC, they're really talking about either the landscape, or coastal BC (the complaints about Vancouver are valid though). The people / towns in the interior and north are irredeemable racist redneck shitholes. With no exaggeration, they're as bad as Bumfuck, Montana or whatever. I haven't been to a lot of rural areas of Canada, but I expect that it's much the same. Unlike the US though, I think, something like 95% of Canada's population is in the larger cities near the southern border, so that's what you seen represented online / abroad

I've always liked Quebec, despite its issues. I've always thought the Canada was better with Quebec in it, which was a controversial opinion in the west growing up . I think its sad that despite being by far the most liberal/left leaning province on labour issues, [most] social issues and generally being pretty chill, there is that weird strain of xenophobia that runs through the culture. Maybe decades of a siege mentality in which they are the only ones keeping their language/culture pure against the Anglo hordes? I dunno. The carnival is awesome in the winter in Quebec, and Montreal, as previously mentioned, is pretty great. Despite doing French immersion during most of my K-12 I wish my spoken french was better, but I'm still ahead of most of my fellow tte carre. Although when I was working in Gatineau but living in Ottawa my taxes were always a little screwed up. loving RL-1 why can't you be the same as the T-4.

Never below 15 sounds hellish tbh. Seasons rule. Proper winter rules, when its followed by summer. I know lots of people love perpetual summer and/or perpetual temperate mediterranean climate but I do not loving get it. Give me a freezing winter and a badass summer any day, especially somewhere as gorgeous as QC and ON. Unrelatedly, Melbin is dumber than anything qubcois french can throw out.
