Rockstar's up there with Blizzard in "how far they've fallen" for game companies. I do think I'd probably enjoy SC2 though. But that's what, 10+ years old? Want to really get back into RTS in general

GTAV is exactly what a GTA game is supposed to be and Blizzard has definitely squandered more good will than Rockstar has.

Well, Blizzard did re-release the original StarCraft a few years ago, so there's an option.

SCII is fun, I go back and burn through the campaigns again every so often. If you’re going multiplayer, skip the melee and go straight for the arcade/custom games. There are a bunch of fun ones in there.

Speaking of Bethesda, I haven't looked to see if they're putting Fallout 76 on the new systems, but I suspect they're already planning terrible and buggy new expansions just for the next generation to suffer over. Or maybe just re-release Fallout 3 with an online component like Morrowind.

Two of my brothers and I have been playing SC1 on the re-release for the last several months. It's been pretty fun, though since there's only three of us, we just beat on CPU opponents. We did one FFA and it ended up being a total Mexican standoff. But against CPUs we've done pretty well, we've gotten up to being able to take 3v5 most of the time. Fun little family activity I guess!

i wouldn't say rockstar has fallen so much as they frustrate people with their insanely low output combined with the crunch, a truly bitter cocktail but like blizzard is actually collapsing with what looks like a real lame overwatch repackage on the horizon and the next rockstar game will almost certainly sell fifty billion copies and be played for years

Gta5 has made more money than any other video game ever. They don't even need to launch games at this point, just keep servicing their slowly shrinking base with mission packs, updated car skins and the occasional dumb weapon. I still have the fireworks launcher from 5 years ago in my weapon inventory.

Apparently it won't be on ps5/xbone series until late next year. They're going to do a free 3 months of GTA Online as a stand alone for ps5. It's sold 135+ million copies since 2013. PS1 had 3 gta games too. 1, 2 and London.

I'm half certain that mobile game isn't coming out at this point Same for Diablo 4, really. It's obvious they made people crunch after that Blizzcon to get a vertical slice demo going using the Diablo 3 engine, and hadn't really put any resources to it before then (and probably still aren't giving it much attention).

D3 was disappointing at launch, but after they fixed it, (RIP RMAH) it turned into my personal favorite ARPG. I want to like POE, but it has way too many systems to keep track of, so I get super stoked for a new patch and then fall off like 4 hours in every time. Haven't heard much about Torchlight 3, hoping it's good, I'll probably check it out after I'm done with Spelunky 2.

It's weird but I genuinely do not regret completely boycott deleting my Blizzard account after the China Blizzard thing. I mean a second after I did it, I kinda thought, "aw gently caress I had some decent told poo poo in my bag if I wanted to relevel in WOW!" And then the idea of sinking ship many uninterrupted nights of raiding and dailies and PvP BGs made me chuckle. Like they almost made me miss chores. I hadn't played regularly since cataclysm anyway, hadn't properly raided since wrath. poo poo was dead to me even though I REALLY LIKE fantasy and old God cheesy Warcraft Lore the game was just... Ugh. Then they released some old poo poo like lmao they weren't even trying. And my friend feel for that poo poo, but he's like 8 years younger than me and didn't play the of version so he was their whole demo. I guess we'll see how it shapes up but Shadowlands looks like it might be the most promising WoW expansion for years. Haven't played Overwatch for a long time now, but I had a lot of fun with it when it was first released, I doubt I'd even recognize the game if I logged in now. Still have fond memories of blowing people up with Junkrat. As for Diablo 3, the Reaper of Souls expansion really was a huge improvement and made it the game that it should have been from the beginning. Sure, the story is still a load of eye-rolling claptrap and the always online requirement is still annoying, but you just don't care because you're too busy looking for the next congregation of monstrosities to dispatch in a cascade of fire and ragdoll physics.

Duzzy Funlop posted:For someone who doesn't have Reaper of Souls, which changes made that happen? Off the top of my head, Ross added a new class and a new chapter. Revamped the loot system so that you more or less get showered in green drops while playing post game. Leveling is much faster. You can power level a character in an hour or two. Added adventure mode, so you don't have to constantly run the campaign. Added rifts, which are randomized dungeons with adjustable difficulty. Rebalanced sets, and added a few more for each class. Seasons, usually have some gimmick and reward for meeting achievements and milestones. Meant to encourage you to play with different builds. I'm sure I'm missing other things too. I might have convinced myself to start a new season character. Edit: new ways to craft, and you can augment items with the cube! bengy81 fucked around with this message at 13:14 on Oct 20, 2020 |

Leveling in D3 solo is even pretty fast. You can easily hit the cap and finish the story in a day (maybe even half a day? It’s been a while). You always feel like you’re progressing and it grabs you until you hit end game where it will get repetitive and for me the fun factor fell off a cliff.

Has anyone else been playing Hades for Switch/PC? It’s a rogue-lite made by the guys who did Bastion and some others. You die a lot on your runs, but that’s built into the story. I’ve never been a rogue like fan, but this game has been addicting.

I will get back to the haunted moon of Spelunky 2 after dealing with dad problems the game

This is a worthwhile accessory if you have a DS4/XBone controller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0786JC6VW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_s5mLFb89BDCEJ 8Bitdo is the only 3rd party accessory manufacturer I recommend.
