It's amazing how +10.xxx / +29.xxx can fit roughly within 1000u of my ship yet apparently at no point in it am I within scanning range of (what I assume I'm looking for) an obelisk :v:

4,294,967,295 is the max unsigned integer so I would suspect that's the actual max if you are seeing something close to that. That's kind of fascinating to me.

These things happened four times last night.

Is that pretty much the norm?

Not in my experience, no. Usually when I have crashes it's consistent and rarely more than a minute after an autosave-- ie, "something on this one planet specifically is hosed up and crashing the game after I hop out of my ship and run around for 10 seconds", or "I killed like 6 sentinel walkers in the exact same location and their collective corpses have formed into a blue screen black hole". I've had a freighter load around me once but never clipped into one already there, I've had 2 "stuck landing" bugs total (both with the same ship on the same landing pad at about the same time) and never once had a "stuck warping" issue. I am using a PS4 pro with an SSD, I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make when it comes to load issues.

Yeah I think this thing is glitched already lol. I've walked to all four corners of this map section, and across the middle multiple times, and the coordinates never started refining themselves like they're supposed to. The only building in the area that shows up on the visor is a resource depot.

it doesn't sound too far out of normal to me. one thing to remember is autosaves happen whenever you exit your ship, but NOT when you enter it, so hop in and immediately back out before lifting off.

Best part of this update is you can now find quicksilver in the derelict freighters. I've noticed 15 on a container. Also you now get nanites from just looking at the logs scattered about, I don't think they rewarded anything previously.

Oh good, assuming they haven't fixed the personal refiner glitch for the derelict scanner yet, that should be a way to farm up quicksilver nice and fast.

Logs used to reward nanites pre-patch. Lots of stuff in freighters can reward nanites: the briefcases, the logs, and most of the stuff like slime refines into nanites. That plus the captains log and the crew manifest makes the freighters pretty decent for nanites if you don't feel like ship flipping or finding stations with pugneum.

Logs don't give nanites anymore, they give a new currency, Tainted Metal, that can be used at the scrap dealer for more cosmetics and the other stuff they used to sell for nanites.

Remember that getting out of your ship on a derelict doesn’t save the game, so if (when) you blow your own face off with a plasma grenade, it’s non trivial to get back.

Slow as poo poo comapred to ice farming probably-- you've got a chance of getting 15 QS per container, vs the 100 per CSI encounter. Probably slightly more interesting and you can farm credits/metal at the same time, but if you just want QS, eh

Ice farming?

After a warp, the starbirth quest pointed me to a new planet so I checked there. At first it seemed like it might be the same deal but while I was walking the outer edge, suddenly the quest actually refined the coordinates It turns out the target building was outside the giant rear end square of land it had directed me to land in, and far enough outside it that it would not show up on the visor from any point inside the initial coordinates. What kind of BS is that?

Moving from galaxy 7 to 8, I forgot I had restarted the game and so the trick for landing in the new galaxy near the core failed. Which is a real shame since my target Galaxy for playing in is 10. I'll figure that out after my Living Ship quest is complete since it's so buggy.

Ice farming?

Condensed Stellar Ice is a potential anomaly encounter that drops random materials, one of which can possibly be 100QS. If you find a system where it's the first encounter you have, you can then reliably save/reset to hit the encounter, check to see if it rewards Quicksilver or something else, and then continue resetting or save+resetting to keep encountering it. It's not super fast or super interesting, but if you're hunting for a reward that's going to go away, or just a few hundred QS away from something you really want, or just really that desperately bored, it's a reliable way to farm QS.

Just buy one S class hyperdrive upgrade and that'll get you straight there. You can check the upgrade vendors in every station you visit and use the portal to warp between them, chances are at least one has that upgrade for sale.

Looks like you get 450 tainted metal for giving both the captains log and crew manifest to the local scrap dealer. If you've been farming one derelict and have multiples it may glitch him out and he will only accept one, though.

I still haven't seen any bugs, just jellies and drones. Maybe they're still falling through the floor on PS4.

But you do need to progress it. You absolutely cannot take QS missions the first time you go to the Anomaly. If you try to talk to the Nexus it doesn't let you. I think you have to talk to Nada and Polo, do the next part of the quest and then when you go back you get access to it. I think it gives you the "community progress" sidequest for the new unlocks at the same time.
