Getting some crazy wind gusts from this hurricane right now, the closest weather station showed a max of 55 mph. What a loving week. Power went off at like 1:00, the transformer blowing woke me up. It’s currently 2:30 and they say we have like 45 more minutes till it passes. I’ve heard multiple things fall over and at least one trash bin roll merrily down the road...should have picked it up on time, rear end in a top hat!

I'm really sorry you have to deal with this shitstain, it's unacceptable. I'm glad the antidepressants are working for you, gently caress the side effects though, I know that feeling! My dick hasnt worked properly for months. I just had a really good, cathartic session with my psychologist. It confirmed what I had suspected, that my ex was borderline abusive and displayed some pretty narcissistic tendencies. It makes me feel a little less crazy, a little less angry and I guess a small part of me pities her too. Not that much.

I absolutely think the anti-anixety meds I'm taking contributed to the dumb "I forgot how to drive a manual car" prang I had a couple of months ago. But you are so right, the side effects are worth it. It's taken me months, 10 psych sessions, the implosion of a relationship, quitting drinking and a whole host of painful self reflection but I really feel like I'm on the path to recovery and a chance at hapiness I don't think I've ever had before. For anyone struggling, please consider therapy. I'll so agree with the "fit you own oxygen mask before helping others" metaphor. Something to keep in mind is your own "capacity" - mental and emotional. I think one of the reasons I was so resistant to seeking help, and found it so hard to make meaningful progress is that I was constantly at or beyond my capacity.

So my new commodore decided to flash the Alternator warning this morning on the way to work. This is the same problem my last one had a few months ago. Lucky for me I had a nearly new alternator at home waiting for me! Under an hour and I had the old wagon jacked up and pilfered and then put into new wagon. Interesting that the cars are a few months apart in manufacturing date in the same MY so had a little laugh about that. Poor old wagon is really turning into a parts car or 'hmm this bit of trim is in better condition' (I've even been eyeing off swapping doors). Although I am being good and ordering new replacements as I go from Holden (yelling across the street to Davo who works at the dealership to bring home parts)

No real damage rom the hurricane but I was woken at like 1:00 by a transformer blowing up and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I waited till it died down at like 4:30 and went and got 10 more gallons of gas for the generator, then set it up and plugged the freezer and fridge and some lights up. Eerie streets, debris everywhere. I saw 3 downed trees partially blocking the road and one fully blocking it. Currently playing with my toddler Alex, it’s 8:00 and Mommy is still loving asleep while I just took my scheduled dose of Librium. 14-year old daughter whined she wanted some waffles and I told her to buy me a gas range and she’d get them. gently caress 2020 and the past two weeks in particular.

I think everyone is really going through it lately. Guy in my AA group had his dad die and his wife divorce him in the same week. I know "at least it's not that bad" isn't exactly comforting but tbh it really does make me feel better that I'm not alone. Power is out in my apartment and the surrounding neighborhoods from the hurricane. I'm the only one in the office right now which is actually pretty comfy. I have also been adjusting to new meds and it's rough. If your dick isn't working talk to your doctor about it and they'll put you on a SNRI that imo is the good stuff.

SSRIs absolutely broke my dick. Some of them just killed sex drive 100%, others Little STR still wanted to play, but just felt.. numb. No shame in asking your doctor for that blue pill either, though it can give you a painful boner that refuses to go away for a few hours (and sometimes still makes it too numb to finish, to the point where both of you get bored). Oh yeah, migraines from hell sometimes come with it, if you're prone to migraines.

My dad came along and got some sunshine, and my daughter came out and gave us each a hug. It was nice to get out in the world while simultaneously forgetting about it for a while. So all my cars are registered and I got my new license in the mail Monday. Downside, it cost about $1100. Upside, I think that makes my move complete.

I have certainly career limited myself before over lesser things, so... I don't have too much to complain about, but still feel a general... malaise, I guess, given the whole 2020 thing - C19, politics, Nazi racist homophobic asshats feeling safe, etc. And now I've hosed off doing stuff outside enough that it's now in the 40s (F) outside - too cold for paint, for example. Man, I want a shop. I should have got out and worked on my RX-7 more, but: lazy, and there wasn't really a whole lot between "gently caress, it's hot" and "now the paint won't dry." Although, the paint is catalyzed, so maybe should still dry properly, just more slowly. Hmm.

If I have an option to put poo poo off I usually do lol. When it's crunch time I just force myself to get off my rear end and get poo poo done, and I find that I focus better and get more done that way. If it's at my leisure poo poo that should take a day will take a week

I got on antidepressants (welbutrin) right after my friend died and it helped so much for a while. Then after 9 months or so I started having worse suicidal thoughts than before like the ones I used to have when I was an alcoholic. Just by accident and being busy I missed my Drs appointment and didn't get my prescription renewed. I got supremely lucky and I only had mild withdrawal symptoms after stopping them cold turkey. It worked out though that since then I still get depression but most of the time it's not too bad compared to the debilitating kind I had before getting any help for it. The thing that made a huge difference is I kept up a vitamin D regimen and it works awesome. I can actually feel it if I forget to take it for a few days. I was also lucky that I had no side effects from the welbutrin so if anyone does you should try it. One problem I still have is anxiety, sometimes debilitating though usually it's pretty short lived. If there is a treatment for that with minimal side effects I think I would do pretty good on it. I'm getting the 2020 exhaustion pretty bad with thinking about all the poo poo going on in the world. That and not being able to do the one thing that made me happy and getting out and being social really sucks. I'm so tired of just working, being at home, working, being at home etc. I just want to get out and do things and hang out with people. I do consider myself seriously lucky to have a job and a great place to live however it's just that I want to do things that aren't work and being at home. Getting Stormy has been the best thing to happen to me at least. Makes being at home at fun and she makes me laugh and is fun to play and snuggle with. Not sure how I'd be doing without her. I'm glad I took the plunge on that as it is a big commitment of time and energy to make sure she has a good home. Here is a video of her in turbo play mode which is a lot of the time. It's like a 80/20 split of play time vs snuggle time https://streamable.com/q8v782

I've had this home depot workbench in my garage but I'm going to need to store it outside for probably a year or two. I'm not super attached to it but I'd like to keep it in decent condition if that's doable. I live in LA so it's not too cold but there will be some rain throughout the winter and spring. I currently haven't stained / painted it, it's just the bare wood. I was thinking of putting it on cinder blocks and covering it with a tarp, will that be enough? I could also go through the effort of putting some stain/coating on it, if that would make a big difference.

The thing people forget about is condensation, it gets up under tarps and stays wet, which leads to mold. If you can protect it from the weather but leave it open, it'll be better off. Like folded up under an overhang or similar. Of course a full stain and seal will help a lot too.

When I bought my NH powerstar 120 there were a couple dozen 100-120hp CNH tractors within an hour drive, only one had the factory installed third function. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to add the factory kit outside of the factory on these. John Deere and Kubota were the same, almost everything on the lot has a loader, next to none with the third function. Eventually I will plumb up a diverter and add it myself.
