Babish lost me when he did an episode about the accidental banana pudding pizza from Doug, and tried to make a good banana topping. He did not first follow the part where Roger loses two bananas and therefore decides to "subtract two" from everything, thus making disgusting slop that tastes good when combined with pizza. An outrage.

My problem with that channel is that once he ran through all the simple builds it became less interesting. Nowadays there are so many steps that the end result becomes almost completely divorced from the original item.

I think the original plan was to have the videos build off each other, in a "today we're going to use what we learned in videos X, Y, and Z together to make this dish!" but that's probably pretty difficult to plan out as a series unless you're already a cooking instructor or have some other teaching experience. But yeah, you can also just go buy tortillas or whatever other thing that you don't want to make from scratch. He's not gonna get mad at you.
