Huh. All this time.

A monster/horror film where these people are trapped in a building with no power and a deadly monster The monster is pretty big, and has horizontal mouthparts like an insect. At one point a man is lowered into a room with the monster, and when they pull him back up, his lower torso is gone. One of the scientists in the film analyses the monster's DNA and concludes it's 33% human or thereabouts.

There is a scene where they enter the museum and go to rappel down and the monster has a snack, a little before the 3/4's mark. The creation mutation being part human is a key element of the film. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Relic_(film) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120004/ I still have a fondness for that film

ZoeDomingo posted:... a widower falling in love with a woman (or maybe just starting to date again). There was a conversation about him still loving his deceased wife, and how the woman he was dating (or might date) would feel about that. And someone responded with a statement talking about "... a man who stopped loving his wife just because she died," and that the woman "has enough room in her heart" for him and his wife... The answer to this came to me suddenly this evening. I kept hearing the woman's voice as Southern, and then it hit me. It was an episode of "Designing Women" titled "Second Time Around," and it was Julia talking to the guy who was dating Charlene and had broken up with her abruptly because he felt he was betraying his late wife. It's a very touching conversation. I found the full quote; it's about halfway down the page.

Just thought of something far easier than the absolute insanely impossible requests I posted earlier in the thread: a Nintendo 64 commercial featuring a (bald? middle-aged?) dude on a couch in a dark room trash-talking his silent buddy sitting next to him as they play different games. The only line I remember, and indeed the sentence I will probably have come to mind on my deathbed, is the guy excitedly yelling "WCW VERSUS NWO VERSUS GARY, ON HIS KNEES, BEGGING AND PLEADING!" in, obviously, the segment of the commercial promoting WCW VS. NWO (either The World or Revenge, not sure). I think that one commercial may have even been part of a series, considering the closest I came to this video in occasional searches was one of someone trash-talking "Gary" over Nintendo 64 games, but that was not the right commercial at all (either that or that was just a shorter version of the same commercial).

Here's a twofer. A suspense/action/something movie where there's a bunch of people in an abandoned urban area. Maybe they were armed? Don't remember exactly, but something happens and one of them ends up on the ground getting swarmed and eaten alive by hordes of rats while everyone else screams in horror and tries to run away. A movie set in a desert state. Some kind of gunfight is going on, and there's some large guy with a double barrel shotgun fighting off two sheriffs/police officers who were hold up in a building while the large guy might've been outside firing from behind some cars? One of the officers mutters to the other something about how the shotgun 'must be new'. Both at least 15 years old, they're vague memories from childhood of catching something on the TV that someone else was watching.

I have two that have been bothering me lately. This one should be easy(but has resisted my search terms). It was a music video I saw linked from SA, I'm thinking around 2008-2012 or so. I don't really remember the genre of music, but the video was memorable. It was animated, and consisted of different scenes swapping between each other, usually by zooming in or out on a TV screen or something similar. I remember a security guard watching a UFO on a TV, then that UFO destroyed his little guard hut. This one is a super long shot. I was watching some random assortment of short films on a cable access channel. One of them was about a young man who went to some fancy society party. The next day he returns to the location of the party because he "misplaced himself" and needed to find himself. The key image I remember was him looking in mirrors to try find himself again. It had a very experimental/avant garde feel to it(if you couldn't tell from the description). I have no idea if it was some well known short or just a student project.

There was a movie I saw once that was from the late 80s or early 90s that was kind of like Night of the Living Dead but with huge giant wasps or mosquitoes or something. I remember it being in like a lovely house with boarded up windows and being a “survive the night” kind of thing.
