Yeah I thought space is actually governed by international maritime law. Pretty sure you can't just detonate a nuke in international waters, either.

This came up in another thread. It turns out that they implemented steering but they didn't implement any sensors to check whether the car was actually going in the direction it was being steered. That's a little bit like going out in your socks and underwear with no pants on.

Detonating nukes produce a more or less characteristic brightness pattern. There are satellites watching for this pattern pretty for pretty much the reason you'd expect. That doesn't mean there'll be practical consequences, but someone would notice.
