Is this the third time in just a couple of weeks?

Surely there's got to be some point where Trump so obviously not giving a poo poo about his supporters starts to drive people away from him, right?

Yep, third time.

It probably won't, there are enough available built-in excuses that maybe the crowd was bigger than they expected or the airfield location wasn't great. I try to not think about it that hard - it's just inherently funny.

Edit for below: I'm aware of Omaha, then Pennsylvania the other day, then this one from Georgia.

They simply won't acknowledge it. If the subject is forced, they'll whatabout like they do with everything else. Even the people that were directly affected by it won't attribute the event to Trump.

There's a nonzero chance that Donnie's bullshit moved most Republicans to vote on election day tomorrow, then Donnie's campaign didn't bother to put together the turn-out-the-vote efforts.

Anyone ever volunteer to do door-to-door political canvassing? I've got a question from this story:

https://twitter.com/reidepstein/status/1323246861084483591?s=19

They were apparently trailing a Donnie door-knocker and in the door-knocks, they found some Biden voters. I always thought campaigns had a solid list of prospects versus just randomly hitting up every door on the block.

shame on an IGA
Apr 8, 2005

The lists aren't perfect and people who've volunteered or donated to a particular campaign are usually filtered off so you don't waste time contacting stone-cold locks.

The starting point is usually anyone who's voted in party X's primary in the last 12-16 years so a lot of people end up on both lists in places where local races are dominated by one party or the other and the sherrif's primary race or whatever is effectively the entire election.

The one time I did I feel like it was a solid list, but that a decade or more ago, it also may have been a solid area too.

It depends on who/what you are canvassing for I think. I did canvassing this year for a state legislature candidate, and the list was only people that requested information, so mostly registered D's but definitely dropped literature at a few Trump houses.
Hitting every door seems like a huge waste of time and resources.

A train that went careening over the end of elevated tracks in the Netherlands on Monday was left teetering about 30 feet above the ground. But no one was injured or killed in the accident — thanks to a sculpture of a whale’s tail that stopped the train from plunging.

“It’s like the scene of a Hollywood movie,” said Ruud Natrop, a spokesman for safety in the Rotterdam-Rijnmond area, where the accident occurred. “Thank God the tail was there.”

The derailment, in the city of Spijkenisse, happened around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, according to local news outlets. The driver was the only person on the city train and was unharmed, Mr. Natrop said, and was taken to the hospital for an evaluation and then to the police station for questioning.

Agreed, wtf is up with that? Some of the best jackets there are, not much else is any good. Although since they moved production out of the US my union in-laws have universally stopped buying their poo poo and I'm probably going to follow once this jacket gives up the ghost.
