Actually a fair bit more than I'd thought, I thought a lot of the value was in figuring out how to get people up there and staying there but there's quite a bit more going on.

They provide as much benefit as other scientists do.

So, potentially quite a lot.

They're probably more nutritious than the average scientist, if you want to get really technical about their potential benefit.

Oh, I hadn't even considered that! They tend to be in much better shape than your average scientist. Very good point!

Most astronauts aren't scientists, unless all it takes to be a scientist is an undergrad degree in a STEM field.

I have good news, and I have bad news.
Which do you want to hear first...?

This sounds to me like they mean "We will allot your store ten more hours to give to your employees during that week to make things easier."

Either way though, eek.

That's exactly what it means.

I swear I've said this like ten times but every time I see some stupid poo poo like this I'm ever more glad to have escaped that company and retail.

I was under direct orders not to die
🐵❌💀

There was a period in time I was healthy enough to work long hours and didn't hate my job. We were setting up a new store I was being transferred to so I put in a ton of overtime and made bank. They got mad and "promoted" me to a salary position. I never stayed a minute late again. Then they got mad at me for "slacking off all of a sudden".

If I was at that GameStop when I was 22 I would probably try for it. But nowadays? Hell no lol

Salary is just a trick to pay less than the hourly wage if you're anywhere near retail. I remember getting "promoted" to management and making $35k a year salary. Then they pretty much demanded 50 hour weeks, which would have worked out to a little more if I had been being paid overtime. I got written up for working 40 hours one week.

Berries That Burn

This is not the most offensive advertising I have seen, by a long shot.

But it is absolutely the most tone-deaf advertising I have ever seen in my life.

During a heated, close election (during a pandemic) where voters on both sides are flipping their poo poo like this is the most important election they might see in their lifetime. I'm not saying that it is (or will be), but people are losing their poo poo both ways.

"Hey guys, maybe we can all get along? Buy this hoodie in solidarity."

They just want to make sure that no matter who riots, all their stores burn. Normally this would be a bad idea, but Gap is bankrupt and the insurance checks will likely be for more than the stores and their contents will be worth once commercial real estate collapses.

I'm only half joking.
