Dude, ix-nay on the oice-vay.

Guess they couldn’t afford a pumpkin big enough for the deer and had to settle for another marsupial.

I can’t think of any way to link an o’possum and a deer. Now I’m sad that I don’t have a decent computer to make Photoshops of deer with pouches

Thought this was cool as hell:

Then it got me wondering, could you show the whale the old picture of itself? Could it even recognise that it was a picture of itself given how unlikely it is that the whale has ever actually seen its own fluke.

And that got me thinking, what else could you show a whale that it had never seen before? Could you put a boat alongside it and lower a big screen TV in a perspex cage down in front of its eye and show it forests and mountains and deserts and cities?

EDIT: And now I want someone to put in a big screen smart TV at SeaWorld for the dolphins. I think they'd like that.

Maybe given them a pornhub account too, because dolphins are perverts and would probably find it funny as hell.

Whales and dolphins are pretty drat smart, probably real close to human intelligence, but their eyesight tends to be poor.

So yeah, good question.

I saw a tweet a while back from a zoo (San Diego?) where they said they were putting different animals near each other so they would be less bored because of the lockdown, and apparently the dolphins and sloths got on really well. The dolphins hung around really close and called to the sloths, and the sloths loving called back, which is apparently very weird for them, they are normally v quiet :3:

This reminds me of the best/worst prank ever played on me. Three of us crashed out in my cousin's bed after a night of heavy drinking, and the next morning her sister decided to wake all our hungover asses up with a cheery "good morning" as she let all six, excitable dogs in the room. Someday I will have my vengeance.

Thanks to a particularly memorable day at a science museum when I was at school, I can say the brain adapts to being "upside down" very quickly. It's actually the weirdest thing, they put some prismatic glasses on us that flipped the image upside down (but preserved left and right), and let us loose in a (suitable padded) room for a while. After a few minutes you stop even noticing it, the bigger problem is caused by your "eyes" being a few inches above where you think they are. Apparently if you wear them for a day or two it's actually just as disorienting to take them off.

Same thing happens with color, as anyone who's gone skiing or snowboarding with color tinted goggles can tell you. Brains are weird.
