i'm sure some amount of this is inevitable with the internet, but it's annoying that the term has become somewhat detached from its white supremacist roots. like cops and local media decided a group of native americans running some illegal video gambling in rural nc were sovcits a couple years back. yea, i guess those folks were a pain in the cops' rear end and they did claim laws don't apply to them, but citing broken treaties and genocided ancestors rather than some william gale poo poo seems like a meaningful distinction.
