If you morph into a smaller creature the extra mass of your bod is stored in hyperspace and if you're unlucky a passing space freighter will literally run your rear end over. Dude's mistake was not transforming to crab.

I recently read a fun book that is sort of a light fantasy / magical realism story about a guy who gets lost in the woods and has to make his way back to civilization. It's called The Hike by Drew Magary and features a talking crab as one of the characters he meets along the way. This has been your crab thread book rec.

Ror posted:This has been your crab thread book rec. I've gotten into the Stormlight series (plus all the adjacent books) this year, the latest of which came out last week. One of its most charming aspects is that the main setting has "crustacean" as the default evolutionary path for a lot of the fauna - everything from rats, dogs, cattle, etc, is more like some kind of crab variant, all the way up to gigantic clawmonsters the size of buildings.

Crab is a simple language. You simply wave your claws and gesture your intentions. There's only a few phrases to know: "This is food I will eat it" "gently caress off or I'll pinch you" "Ye"
