Has anybody noticed how prominent Chinese things are in everything now? Like I youtube some dumb video or start reading random unrelated wikipedia articles and I just see China things shoehorned in at every opportunity.

Tik Tok is literal propaganda. 5G is literally marketing taken to the extreme. No one knows when it started then suddenly it became this de facto position that never had anything to back it up, like can any of you tell me with anything concrete about China's 5G that can be attributed specifically to them and not the consortium? It's like as if Japan declared victory claiming they have the best VHS or CD or DVD.

I know its from a few weeks ago but what are the bad words for the china thread. I remember a few years ago genespclicer shut the threads down for the use of the chinese word for farmer. Also a contraction for north korens. I take it we cant use colors, but what about using past terms like "color peril"

Its obvious now that this wasn't a racist statement but to a casual interested new reader to the thread, it could easily appear so. And don't laugh GBS active users has been up consistently over the last few months by 200 users or so, and I've noticed a lot of new account lurkers browsing, ostensibly some of them are not seraph lol. Its actually been on level with or higher than cspam or D&D recently. We have to be extra careful to keep poo poo on the level because I would like GBS to continue to grow. I will in general take responsibility for this thread and make sure that's ok with the other mods obviously. I will reach out to you guys and to fromage before probing. This thread is not going to be closed, and I will continue to try to learn as much as I can to do better.

Most martial arts actually designed for real non-sport fighting aren't particularly photogenic because most of them lean on "don't get close enough that it becomes a brawl you idiot but if it does go for the throat and the crotch"

Most of the people doing taichi or teaching it aren't the fake dragonball guys. Think of it like yoga, that's how most people approach taichi. Kungfu probably has more bullshit because people are still convinced it's a legitimate way to fight.
