No political party is connecting with them, yet a YouTube guy who’s got a screw loose is one of the few people to ever make them think about politics. Don’t know if the answer is moderating the crazy, or trying to get less crazy people into the same space, but it’s a whole generation of voters who are entirely up for grabs, pointing out the stupid thing he says once a month is all well and good but the people he’s speaking to could decide the next election, the left has to find a way to engage them.

I'm frequently amazed that, when the supposedly left wing major party of a nation spends all of its election campaigns promising not to fix any problems or institute any left wing policies, it's really the fault of leftists for not engaging crazy idiots who won't listen to them correctly enough, or for complaining when we replace popular candidates and positions for horribly unpopular ones seemingly out of political suicidal tendencies. Good thing this only happens in *checks notes* "every single english speaking nation I can think of!" We can safely ignore our supposedly left-wing party just basically trying to be LNP2 when LNP voters already have an LNP to vote for.
