I think Leak gets published in a Murdoch rag, so you can always assume that the least generous assumption is the correct one.

His UK outlets would be okay with the army acting like the werhmacht on the Eastern front so long as they were r boys.

Technically they're arguing that because not all troops committed war crimes it is unfair to cancel the award to honour service in the War Crimes Task Group, which is the real war crime.

What's the chance the EU are gonna say "well, if you don't want a deal, you can rot on your island by yourself" when Brexit enters the final stage? Does the EU have the ovaries to go through with something like that? It would be very funny to me if the UK just collapsed from isolation. I would also support Scottish, Northern Irish, Welsh and possibly Northern English independence in that case.

That's not how the EU rolls. Keep in mind that they really don't want this kind of disruption at all. But the level at which the negotiations happen is pretty far removed from day to day politics in member states (and in member states nobody cares anymore). It's all done by civil servants. They don't have to look good at home, they just have the mandate given to them by the states. Stopping negotiations isn't in the mandate, so they'll sit at the table, smile politely, and soldier on regardless.

It helps that the UK holds no cards. Geography dictates that the EEA will dominate the UK's trade volume. The only question is how much extra paperwork the UK wants to inflict on their, well, everything. The EU moves really slowly, they have time.

The UK position is completely bonkers by the way. They looked at the huge harmonised trade block they were a part of, the block that forces its standards onto third countries through sheer size, and said to themselves: "We want this, but worse in every way". That's what the UK is currently negotiating.

The extent to which Brexit is an own goal continues to completely flabbergast me. As far as I can tell, it’s in no one’s interest, certainly not the wealthy elites on either side of the aisle. Except that it keeps getting Conservatives elected. At every point I’ve thought “ok, now they’ll use this opportunity to gracefully change course” and at every point I’m wrong. I’m trying to think of a more damaging non-binding referendum in history.

One group of wealthy elites who will benefit from Brexit are those with large sums of money in UK-affiliated tax havens, who will no longer have to care about their being put on EU blacklists for non-compliance with tax transparency laws. Entirely coincidentally, some of these people are hardest-Brexit-possible Tory MPs. Weird, huh?

What does 'Big Government' even mean to Republican's anymore?

It seems like they're pro big government when it's enabling capitalism or being used to oppress minorities, but against it whenever it would improve peoples quality of life or provide useful services (especially if those services are for minorities).

Ben Garrison posted:

THE EXPERTS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT?

I’m often called a ‘conspiracy theorist,’ but what we’ve all seen unfold before our eyes the past few years makes it clear that they’re not theories. They are real conspiracies being carried out by the elitists at the top of the pyramid.

We’ve seen an attempted coup, the blatant rigging of a presidential election, and a plannedemic designed to ruin our country ahead of the ‘Great Reset.’

Believing in ‘America First,’ makes us all Nazis somehow. General Mattis even said Biden’s first goal should be to take ‘America First’ out of our national security policy. Really? That sounds like something a mad dog would say.

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau has come out and announced his support for Agenda 30. I remember not too long ago how anyone mentioning the UN Agendas were immediately denounced as conspiracy theorists.

What the elitists want will not be pleasant for the vast majority of us. The worst thing they have planned is a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine. Just a few years ago anyone like me who were warning about mandatory vaccines were discredited as a conspiracy theorists and nut jobs. Now it’s being mentioned by the mass media and people are already welcoming it in order to get things ‘back to normal.’

There is nothing normal about vaccination in general, but making it mandatory is downright dystopian. If we go along, elitists such as Bill Gates will roll out new viruses and announce never-ending vaccines for us. OH—and we’ll still have to wear their masks, which damages us both mentally and physically. What happens when people start dropping dead a few years after taking the vaccines? The elitists will say it’s due to a new strain of virus and not their vaccines and that the solution is more vaccines! Yes, it will get that nutty.

The vaccines will contain unspeakable evil such as aborted fetal tissue, nano technology, and DNA-changing elements. Not to mention adjuvants that are downright poisonous to our bodies. These vaccines will make many sick right after getting jabbed. Some may die, but the vaccine makers can’t be sued. Huh? How did we allow Congress to give them special dispensation? It means Big Pharma can rush vaccines out without fear. It means a lessening of their responsibility and accountability. It means they have become even more dangerous.

Bill Gates is the biggest vaccine pusher in the world. A confirmed nerd, Bill was bullied as a child. Now he wants to bully the world using forced vaccination. He will have extracted sweet revenge on humanity when he forces his mandatory vaccines upon the Earth and millions begin dropping dead because of them.

We all need to have the final say about what goes into our bodies. If we lose that right, we will lose everything…including our very lives. Say no to Bill Gates and vaccines.

Honestly, this is more in line with old conspiracy theory stuff rather than his thirst for an open dictator. It's almost kind of a return to normalcy.

Remember, Garrison was always loving crazy. Him turning to Trump, loving him, and wanting him to gain full control over the united states was an indication of the conspiracy world becoming part of Trump's authoritarian coalition. These people have long believed that a shadowy network of powerful forces actually control the world and that our democracy is a sham, it's nothing new for them to say an election was stolen. What's new is for a president to be saying it.

It's even worse than that. William Rees Mogg wrote several books on economics covering what is known as disaster capitalism: inducing a crisis in a company so that the stocks and assets can be picked up for peppercorn prices before they recover their value later. One of the most prominent supporters of hard Brexit is his son Jacob, who also happens to be on the board of a hedge fund that has invested billions on currency short positions - essentially a wager that the value of the pound will be below a certain amount at a certain time. Which will happen if there is a no deal Brexit. I shouldn't have to join the dots.
