Sorry, I should have emphasized- do not buy the ebay aUEC. In any other game I'd say "Because it's hacked and they'll find it and ban you," but let's be realistic here. Chris will never figure it out. However, CIG reserves the right to just reset your poo poo at any point. They've promised to do so less frequently but anything you buy with in-game currency will eventually get wiped. Also, the game is a grotesque mockery of better products and does not deserve any amount of your money.

I'm not goimg to buy ships with either aUEC or real money. I was just curious whether this money hack would intefere with the citizens' regular ship-buying plans

RSI Perseus Q&A

Hello everyone,

Are you bursting with questions about RSI's latest gunship, the Perseus? Well, now is your chance to ask!

Some of the most upvoted replies:

quote:

Do the S7 guns use bespoke ammunition ? Can you swap out the guns ?

quote:

How far along is this ship?! You guys have excellent progress done.

quote:

Will it have medical facilities unlike the Hammerhead?

quote:

People are speculating that this ship will be able to RAM enemy ships.(ie the picture used for the Q&A) Is this the plan??

quote:

Does it have an Armory and facilities for troop carrying? Otherwise what is the point of a patrol ship being able to carry a rover?

quote:

Can the torpedo tubes be reloaded from the cargo bay?

Finally...

quote:

Will both big manned turrets be able to be linked to the pilot with computer blades in case the crew gets sick?

:laffo: This project will never end.

I feel like it's pretty likely that they don't have any kind of model for the big new concept ship, so their contractors (Turbulent) just did the best they could with what they had. I do like the idea of the in-game RSI having some kind of reveal of their new spaceship but not letting anyone take pictures of it though. Also, apparently in-fiction this one is another "Historical recreation" ship? What is going on with that? I guess that's how they're justifying selling straight-up military firepower to civilians now?

I know CIG put not further thought into it beyond, "will people buy this?". But the idea of selling a ship whose only role is to destroyer much larger capital ships, capital ships being the type of ship only an army would be able to field is just bonkers. It would be like if the U.S. allowed Raytheon to sell Stingers to civilians.

So I've read that theorizing multiple times on how CIG can't do what EA does in terms of moneygrabbing and I still don't get it.
They simply propose that "because backers" CIG can't risk doing it, but I can't see any thread of reasoning that ties those 2 thoughts together. CIG already has your money, so let's pretend that the game releases and OH NO, CIG puts in lootboxes. At this point their business model is identical to EA lootboxes, the fact that the game was developed using crowdfunding instead of publisher money makes no difference at all.

The people complaining online about lootboxes may seem loud but the fact is that FIFA money continues to pour in from the people that just quietly buy the game and play it for hundreds of hours while not being extremely online.

I would think that CIG would not be too concerned about microtransaction complaints when tens of thousands of people have spent a minimum of $200-ish already on a game that doesn't even function.

At no point have I given money to EA and not got a video game.
