I know nobody reads the OP any more or pays any attention to the 11 billion times I plug this feature in the thread, but can we maybe add a small, and by small I mean utterly obnoxiously large bumper advertising the Firefox, Chrome and GitHub versions of BlockTube so that people can keep assholes like TheQuaterstalker and JoeRandomGamer1488doublelightningbolts who are Forever Mad about The Last Jedi and the big woman from The Last of Us Part 2: The Second One from polluting their YouTube feeds and thus polluting this thread with them by proxy? The only time I watched Movie Bob was his videos on the Escapist on monster movies and I got to the point where he said something in one of them that made me go "...Oh." and I stopped watching things he made. This is also in the same relatively hazy time where everything Yahtzee was putting out was starting to blur together and get boring for me and Jim Sterling left the site for Destructoid. I then spent the next 10-ish years Movie Bob free until this thread reminded me that he exists and is a eugenicist who has Weird Thoughts on the sexual politics of meal time. 372 pages already released their first episode on RP2, they haven't quite clocked that they're not supposed to like Wade this time because he's written exactly like he was in the first one. Also self awareness is also the last thing anyone expected from an Ernest Cline novel, this should be a fun ride. Heres a spoiler for an extremely dumb background detail: In Ready Player Two a new technology is discovered that lets you record playback and share your memories as fully immersive vr experiences like in that one episode of black mirror. It becomes a huge hit and one of the popular uses of this technology is that it allows mothers to record their own labour so that someday their child will be able to experience THEIR OWN BIRTH. I've been mulling over the prospect of making an actual 372 Page thread and have an OP half-typed up that i just gave up on earlier this year. Maybe I should take a swing at finishing it now that they've returned to the Clineverse. Also yeah, not to spoil anything but RP2 is literally just RP1 all over again to the point where it willfully ignores all the established wordlbuilding details of how RP1's virtual world works in order to roll out a new Slightly Better version of it for the sequel and prove definitively that Ernest Cline has no idea how capitalism, socio-ecconomics, future-socio-ecomonics, or even just how a basic market supply chain works. It is straight up Malibu Stacy with a new hat from the Simpsons.
