As a aside, Caesars Entertainment which itself was acquired by Eldorado Resorts a few months ago then changed the name back to the original name and is the owner of Bally's is buying William Hill.

(interestingly enough though none of the Colorado teams are on a Fox Sports channel anymore.)

between this and comcast announcing that they’re putting household data caps in effect next year, the tv networks are really asserting the importance of live television by putting proper value on it lmao price fixing is very cool

Vince Young is the latest potential analyst the NFL has sent to Sky Sports to get some seasoning I presume so he can be given a bigger role in an NFL booth or studio show at some point, and I hope to god that one of the networks picks him up because he's drat good. Cliff Avril and Will Blackmon have done stints in the last few seasons and also should bigger roles

Is an All-22 (the madden-style) cam still a thing? Will that be part of the megacast? That 14 cam setup is too much.

YoutubeTV cancelled Tennis Channel and only gave users 3 hours notice. All recorded content was also removed. Rumors are Sinclair, which owns Tennis Channel and the Fox Sports networks, is going to launch their own streaming service next year. Considering live news and sports are the main reason why people subscribe to streaming package, I feel like the TV landscape is just going to get worse.

So this is cool; the Jimmy V Classic is going on in Indianapolis. Holly Rowe was on site doing sideline reporting but Play By Play and Color commentary were remote. Tech issues hit, and they lost connection to the remote booth. Holly Rowe realized what happened and took over the whole drat show: https://twitter.com/TheComebackNCAA/status/1334333007168040961 https://twitter.com/TheComebackNCAA/status/1334333354733228032 https://twitter.com/TheComebackNCAA/status/1334333534584983557

It was pretty hard to appreciate at the time because I was pretty sure a possibile top 5 pick had just torn his achilles but she and the producers really handled that incredibly well. Also remembering the time Dickie V, who I am guessing makes significantly more than she does, once had to do play by play for like two minutes because a player dove after a lose ball and annihilated his partner and it was some of the most horrible television I've ever seen.

I wouldn't mind seeing some experimentation with how games are called on television. Not that we need to put Dennis Miller back in the booth or anything, but it is kind of odd that we're here in 2020 (2020 being a stand-in for modern times, not "2020" the specific hell year) calling games on TV essentially the same way as they're called on the radio.

That show has been probably the best farm system for all their sports shouting personalities in general, but I'm excited/terrified to see what they do now that they are totally free of having to worry about what Disney thinks (as opposed to presumably kind of caring and then mostly ignoring it)
