There's a story breaking right now about an investigation into a bribe-for-pardon scheme, via an evidentiary ruling regarding some (un)privileged materials. Some of the actual opinion logic gave me a chuckle. Oops. eviltastic fucked around with this message at 06:43 on Dec 2, 2020 |

I had a client with an executive who wasn't exactly stupid, but was one of those types who never wanted to listen to any nuance, or really take the time to ever think or consider anything. Instead, he was the sort who would get a half-rear end version of something in his head, and just plow ahead with it. He kept sending me things and putting in the email that he was sending it to make it privileged. No matter how many times I told him, "No, your board of directors cannot discuss doing illegal things and then magically make it secret and privileged by sending me the board minutes," he'd just never get it.
