A little trick for Legends of Idleon: Early on you get a special barrel of oil as part of a tutorial. The barrel causes smelting to go much faster, and is all but guaranteed to go away after only one bar. The barrel, however, can be removed mid-smelting, letting it be re-used so long as you remember to take it out early. Handy if you need a few extra bars of whatever and don't feel like waiting.

Hmm, does Evolve have a console exploit like Kittens Game that lets you screw with the tick rate? Because I'm finding more and more stuff where there doesn't seem to be a choice but leave it running and come back 24 hours later, and screw that.

crime weed posted:what's the console command to speed up tickspeed? Garfu posted:(for chrome) Thanks for writing up a guide like, half-a-year ago, Garfu. I gave it a go, and it worked just fine, though it was a bit fiddly sine I haven't done that kind of debug-editing in chrome before. Currently trying it at 2x speed-ish, which does let me do a decent chunk more when I actively manage it. Still kinda wish that the storages in Evolve functioned as softcaps, instead of hard ones. Idling the game/overnight progress would be a lot nicer if you had 100% production when storage was 0-100%, then at 200% storage you hit 50% production, 300% storage, 25% production, etc. Instead of so much just getting wasted because you're unable to check in for a couple hours.

Hey yeah sorry, thanks for reposting! Some tips for optimizing that speed hack cheat thing: -Set the short speed as low as 20 up through Bioseeding for maximum speed e.g. 20/1000/5000 -Set the long speed as low as 100 for maximum soul gem farming e.g. 250/1000/100 -Set the mid speed as low as 50 for mech grinding e.g. - 250/50/5000 -Messing with all of the speeds at once will make the game chug anywhere past the early game, so setting the above speeds when you need to will maximize your output Basically you don't need to mess with the different loops outside of the one you're currently utilizing most. Short for resource farming. Mid for mechs and spying. Long for day cycle, so pretty much just soul gems.

I've checked out of Idle Superpowers for now Game is fun and original and has a lot of potential but it too rough around the edges. You are way too dependant on the good superpowers and the power difference between the few good ones and the truckload of garbage ones is huge. My highest run, where i savescummed several powers, is 550. My 2 recentmost runs where i did zero savescumming, petered off at 150 or so. The equipment restocking mechanic both blows and is bugged or simply designed wrong. Restock costs go up with each level, and grows much faster than the increase in gold gain. The restock cost is also independent on how many times you have actually used it; it goes up on its own AND when you use it. I've had several runs where im not watching the game like a hawk and do not buy a lot of equipment so i am practically naked yet cannot restock the store a single time because it costs billions to restock and i only have millions of gold.

I really think Idle Superpowers could stand to have some sort of split between Primary and Secondary powers. You know, Primary being the kinds of powers that can carry runs on their own, and Secondary powers mostly being complimentary. Think like, Eagle Eyes vs all the accuracy increasing powers. Like, say, if the power you get at Level 2 was guaranteed to be a Primary power, it would smooth things over a lot. I also agree with you about the shop, but even if it were fixed I think I'd still hate it, it's simply not very engaging to constantly refresh the shop looking for better equipment.

think I'm gonna have to give up on idle superpowers. had a good run going, got enough points to carry over a second power, and the thing bugs out so I can't select/deselect any powers. not even the first bug, pretty sure it ate a chunk of gems and took away a level of vitality multi, and has been eating gems since edit: resolved the bug by popping in and out of a no power challenge. still feels real bad it happened in the first place Arcanuse fucked around with this message at 02:40 on Nov 30, 2020 |

You know, Primary being the kinds of powers that can carry runs on their own, and Secondary powers mostly being complimentary. Think like, Eagle Eyes vs all the accuracy increasing powers. If I were designing the power system from the ground up, this is something like what I would do. Maybe split powers into Offensive, Defensive, and Support, or based on the four primary stats, and you pick one for each slot, then get modifiers or mutators as you level up. My dream modification would be that thematically consistent powers give you massive powerups. Electrokinesis is mostly useless, electrobody is mostly useless outside certain builds, but if you take both you automatically get Master of Electricity that increases a bunch of your stats by some multiplier, both to increase build variety and to make some of the more useless powers have a niche. Regarding the store, the cost to restock drops at a linear rate. Takes 10 minutes or so to drop to free. Every time you restock, the timer resets. This is why it looks like the cost to restock goes up every time you use it. The only thing that determines cost to restock is your level. And yes, the cost to restock goes insane starting around level 150. I guess it will make more sense at higher gold multipliers. One of the time travel upgrades reduces the restock timer, and another reduces cost. Of course, the equipment is too boring and the management system is too clunky, so it still feels kind of bolted on. Idle Superpowers feels like one of those things that you want to enjoy because it is almost nearly good, but will always be too janky, too far off, or too stuck in an existing meta to ever be truly great.

This works all the way through the endgame, but still actually forces you to kinda play the game a bit, especially in the hell zone. It's been a while, but I recall there was an issue with forcing some buildings too early - like, they unlock something by building them for the first time, and you'll have to reset if you gently caress it up -- you need to drop a few, then another few, then a whole bunch I think. But enjoy it or whatever. REAL EDIT: It's easy in Evolve to inspect the item in the console to get the proper name per species to use, which makes this method of cheating especially chill. Thanks to the Dev for that. Triple edit: Oh and just cut out all the buildings to simply max out all your resources anytime you want to close a gap instantly Cobalt60 fucked around with this message at 18:50 on Dec 1, 2020 |

On Evolve, does the gameplay change significantly as you go on? Part of the reason I got bored even after I started combing through evolve.js and tinkering was that at least as of early bioseed, getting from a prestige to the new stuff was so slow and offered little in the way of new experiences.

Idleon has this annoying there where you finally get all of the items to make something... but you don't have enough inventory space to actually make it, so then you have to spend more time getting the resources to get the item so you actually DO have enough space. Argh.

Yeah, it can be real annoying. Like, an unspoken requirement of the Gold set is 425 butterflies, because you need the second tier catching pouch to hold 2000 flies in your inventory.

There is going to be a tab in your inventory that tells you which ones you've used and which you haven't. Like a collectable list with ??? spaces or something. We know it's going to be a status screen in the inventory but not exactly how it'll work. I kinda was hoping that it would just include a tooltip directly on the item itself 'you've already used this' so I didn't have to cross-reference with a stat screen. On the other hand it would make it easy to see, at a glance, which ones you haven't done yet. So give and take I guess.

Hey, 4G, what are the chances we'll ever see NGU Idle get a feature to go with the first Sadistic titan? I have most of the functional AP unlocks & hearts, I'm just getting into Sadistic difficulty, and now I'm debating whether to blow all my AP on consumables or save it up so that I can get the new feature's heart and such as soon as they come out next year or whenever. The only problem is, it’s kinda boring and the gameplay is repetitive. I feel obligated to play it because I spent $2.99 on it.

Usually in these games I expect the purchasable upgrades to be better than the mass ones, but here, you really need to open a bunch of cubes. It's a little goofy to me that the early game revolves so much around upgrading workshop modules. Like, you get way way higher return on investment maxxing out your modules than you do drilling or using the factory or whatever. I'm certain this changes eventually, especially because I'm pretty sure I need the headquarters(?) to T2 my modules.

Headquarters is your main progression and has a bunch of unlocks associated with it. Lab unlocks a lot of modules but many of the lab minigames are income checks so you won't be able to do much with them til military tier 4 or so. There are some good things you can pick up early, tho. Mine can be a decent source of gems and other materials once you get the facility ai up and running. Factory is a trap. much much later you have to struggle with it for some purpose that I'm not at yet but just forget it exists til then. Arcade has some decent unlocks but the minigame is kinda dumb. Input the konami code and win the game (code does not help with winning) to unlock a powerful defensive module. Shipyard and trading post don't do much but clicking through them unlocks slots in the Museum which can give you a pretty decent damage and defense boost once you have enough income to mess with it and setup the ai for it. Power Plant can make the timers in the other places faster but I really haven't messed with it much. Shrine of cubos lets you play annoying minigames to gain exotic gems to buy building upgrades with. The side bar on the main screen has a "town assets" button that you shouldn't neglect, each asset you place gives 1% white income and can be upgraded later. dis astranagant fucked around with this message at 01:56 on Dec 7, 2020 |
