Live it up. Build roads and throw likes on everything, take time to read the emails in your room when you want a breather, and marvel at how good the acting is for a video game. I played it for 180 hours and still need to go back for like half the missing poo poo but I also edged myself at the end completing everything for all the porters. I had a blast.

Death Stranding absolutely owns. Closest thing to a tip I’d give is that there’s not a huge reason to do generic delivery missions rather than proper story quests for some time into the game, cause significant items and events are behind story missions. Like!

Crossposting from TFR’s games thread in case this is relevant to anybody. Here’s an article from a vet that suffers seizures now because of an injury she got on active duty talking about the grand mal seizure and some other close calls that Cyberpunk 2077 triggered.Capn Beeb posted:https://www.gameinformer.com/2020/12/07/cyberpunk-2077-epileptic-psa quote:When "suiting up" for a BD, especially with Judy, V will be given a headset that is meant to onset the instance. The headset fits over both eyes and features a rapid onslaught of white and red blinking LEDs, much like the actual device neurologists use in real life to trigger a seizure when they need to trigger one for diagnosis purposes. If not modeled off of the IRL design, it's a very spot-on coincidence, and because of that this is one aspect that I would personally advise you to avoid altogether. When you notice the headset come into play, look away completely or close your eyes. This is a pattern of lights designed to trigger an epileptic episode and it very much did that in my own personal playthrough. What the hell were they thinking?? This isn’t just a whoopsie the strobe effect could trigger things, they actually built and implemented a simulation of an intentional seizure trigger.

If you or anyone in your household has an epileptic condition, please consult your doctor before playing Cyberpunk 2077. If you experience dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitches, loss of awareness, disorientation, any involuntary movement, or convulsions while playing, immediately discontinue use and consult your doctor. Did they have to design it to be so severe or was this part of some of the lore/content? I guess I'll find out tomorrow. TCD posted:The eula does state an epilepsy warning twice Probably most likely they followed the "rule of cool" and sourced a cool flashing pattern for the brain dance sequence. The problem is the pattern they sourced it from is literally the device used to trigger epileptic seizures in sensitive individuals. They could source a different sequence and replace it but yeah it's going to be hard for them to undo this fuckup, and their fanbase who did that should get in some sort of poo poo over it, but that's separate from anything CDPR is responsible for, as they did not encourage dumbass fans to do that to a reviewer. The reviewer could pursue civil charges versus the individuals who did it though for sure. orange juche fucked around with this message at 03:24 on Dec 9, 2020 |

Basically, if they didn't intentionally recreate the pattern, it is quite unlikely coincidence. They probably didn't intentionally google "Epilepsy machine pattern" and probably googled "cool flashing lights pattern" instead and found that.

I was asking if there was a source for the statement that "the pattern they sourced it from is literally the device used to trigger epileptic seizures in sensitive individuals." That would be pretty wild if they sourced it literally from the device used to trigger epileptic seizures. Not impossible, but somehow more effort than just throwing in some flashes. It was an early cut of the game, so it may have changed, but when I saw a video including that scene, it looked a lot like camera flashes that rapidly flash then flash big to reduce redeye. Of course, red eye reduction flashes are also known to trigger seizures in sensitive people!
