In theory, and I know it’s not happening, can we use Defense production act, and say nah get hosed you’re making it for us right now?

Further I mean couldn’t we prevent them from exporting anything made in the US? I should add this would a horrible idea in terms of PR and other reasons and I could imagine Biden doing it.

Just wondering if either could be done, not if It should be done.

I think it could be done but considering a chunk of Pfizer’s vaccine supply for the US is being made in Belgium, the “turnabout is fair play, bitches” potential is pretty high.

I figured as much, although I know there ton of Pfizer and Parma stuff is in the PA so I didn’t know how much might be in the US. Maybe it’s one of the others that is more US based. Well the article also mentions the Michigan one too.

That said what’s to stop the US from just making their own and saying, we’ll pay you a royalty later...not to suggest that would be a good idea either.

Without knowing their exact process to make the vaccine I imagine it would be a pointless exercise.

Like, you can throw out a list of ingredients, but the processes to produce the end result I'm sure are very secret.

Well in theory they have them by virtue of the FDA application. That stuff isn’t public and it’s protected, but it’s in the NDA (New Drug Application). At least from some of the pharma legal doc work I’ve done in the past.

Well I'll be hosed.

Then, well, if you don't give a poo poo about getting sued and potentially scaring off every other drug manufacturer in the future, then yes I guess you could stand up your own manufacturing and do whatever you want.

Kind of like when the military went looking for new uniforms at one stage, literally stole one company's pattern (I think it was Crye), and then presented it to every other uniform manufacturer to make for cheaper and to not pay royalties, but no one wanted to go down that road.

Yeah that was Crye's Multicam which was ripped off into OCP.

Technically OCP is a slightly older version of multicam that was submitted to the original trials in the early 2000s.

Other way around on that. The U.S. Army contracted Crye to develop the OCP (at the time called Scorpion) pattern in conjunction with its own camouflage designers. The Army always owned the rights to produce and license it, as they had funded the initiative. Years later, Crye made some marginal changes and patented it as Multicam, then turned around and charged an arm and a leg for the Army to license it. The Army eventually decided to go back to its nearly identical original pattern as a cost-saving measure.

I saw an autographed model of Glamorous Glennis in an antique store on 21 August 2017, the day of the Great American Eclipse.

I didn’t buy it, but I did take the opportunity to look up his signature online. He signed a lot of things and had a quite variable signature.

I’m sure he’s a nightmare for authenticators, and I like to think that he revelled in that.

I think his point is Trump has largely been using threats, up to and including riling up his base with masked death/jail threats. in this case: a DIRECT death threat.

That's not something the Dems have been doing.
