Remember when they did Deadpool as Weapon XI in X-Men Origins? Good times. Speaking of which, I don't know that this is irrational, but the whole adamantium bullet thing is where I checked out and started watching the movie as a comedy.

In the beginning of Purple Rain both the nightclub owner and Morris Day mock Prince and the Revolution’s act of Let’s Go Crazy but anyone in a nightclub anywhere let alone Minneapolis who saw an act like that would have been convinced they literally just saw God. https://youtu.be/SZ0oU8-K4HE I mean this isn’t set up like Eminem in 8 Mile or a bunch of other music biopics where he starts out kind of sucking and you see his struggle to improve and become someone people will throw money at to witness. That act is a nuclear bomb in a club way, way too small for it and the club owner is clowning on him.

It was kinda dumb in x2 when he got shot in the head and knocked out, and the bullet gets pushed all the way out. It went way way way too deep for a metal encased skull. Can't remember if it was flattened or not, was too busy going "they hosed that up".

Then in Origins? they had to use an adamantium bullet to get through his skull.

My whole thing with adamantium bullets is that as soon as they showed the revolver I could see the entire thought process. "Wolverine needs a weakness. 'Wolverine' sounds kinda like 'wolf.' Werewolves are weak against silver bullets. Wolverine has an adamantium skeleton. ADAMANTIUM BULLETS. I'm a genius!"

I think it's more funny than irritating that even now, the portrayal of hacking is: multiple monitors (usually stacked on each other) + matrix-style scrolling text + the hacker typing randomly (with no apparent response on the screen and then suddenly they're in and find what they're looking for. There was a scene like that in the otherwise pretty good "47 Hours", but what actually irritated me is the two main characters. they had to have known pretty early on that it was a real curse based on the visions and stuff, but the blonde girl takes it so flippantly even up until the end. On the final failed "switch" (you can stay alive by just playing the game over and over), she doomed her friend to death because she just immediately tossed the phone when the game was over, missing the error that the photo couldn't be saved so it didn't switch back to her. She had a chance to redeem herself but she cemented the friend's death by once again forgetting to charge her drat phone. I know they're dumb teenagers but god the blonde one was super dumb and it should have been her. Or like, anyone else they could have easily passed it on to and been done with it forever - it wasn't like it follows or whatever where there's a queue.

I always assumed that the bullet caused a dent in the skull, bashing his brain around within the skull and causing a concussion. And because the brain was bashed around against adamantium instead of bone like in a normal human, instead of getting a normal concussion, Wolverine got amnesia. I don't know how much medical sense it makes though.

I thought they shot him through the eye and the bullet lobotomised him. So, when his brain grew back, all those memories of his life were just gone. EDIT: Just went looking for the scene to check and, oh my god, Wolverine's been shot in the head with adamantium like a thousand times. Basically every time you pass the "curse" back and forth the demon keeps ratcheting up the spooks. as dumb as the trailer probably looked, it's honestly pretty good, at least in the "teens getting haunted via smartphone demons" sub-genre.

Ring 2 made the mistake of trying to make Sadako look like a partially rotten corpse due to it being her autopsy, and since her actresses main strength was her very strong facial expression, particularly her eyes, layering that much dead person makeup on her kind of buried her performance.
